Ad Photos - why on earth?

A few years ago I replied to an advert for a share which showed the horse (advertised as 15.1) at a XC competition, flying up a bank out of the water. When I went to view she was 14.3 with her shoes on, could no longer jump, and currently wasn't allowed to even canter due to a damaged check ligament. Sigh!
 
We start looking seriously in August as we will be moving yards early September. Excited but dreading it at the same time. It's the first time my son will be buying a horse with his own savings & not mine. He doesn't earn a lot so budget is tight.
