Adult gymkhana fun

West Midlands BHS area do an inter-county Adult Gymkhana - it is being held at Rodbaston this year. So far it has been won by the local Trec Group, which isn't that surprising.

It is like the Prince Philip Cup games - suitably modified for adult, creaky riders. It is great fun and the horses relish doing something different.

It was out first time and we absolutely loved it! So much fun and really good for the horses to get used to scary things. I am still trying to decide what photos to buy!

Do try and get a team together.

You need to study the rules though, or get a Prince Philip cup instructor to give you some lessons as there are some dos and don'ts. Like not hitting you horse to make it go faster! Instant elimination.

Actually, my normal trainer coaches one of the mounted games teams from down here and takes her team to the Prince Philip cup so we are sorted there :D. In my next lesson I am going to try the dismount at canter, just for fun!

It is quite far from us so not sure if we can get people who are willing to travel. Don't think we would do much good but I bet we would have a flipping great time.:D I am on persuasion duty tomorrow!
