I need to know what I should be looking for in a strong digital pulse indicative of laminitus please? Does it mean you can feel it easily or that it is beating very fast or both?
Please provide any advice, especially those that have experience of lami.
Just in case you are wondering, I have consulted my vet and they were not overly worried atm...I had brought him straight into stable and onto older hay. He is fine in himself but m gut said something was wrong as he was shifting his feet about abit...walking fine and not looking in pain...may be something of nothing but just in case.
I can feel a good pulse with firm pressure and he has never had lami before...just hope he does not now either!

My feeling is that in a horse at rest, you should not be able to feel the digital pulse, and if you can, there is something wrong.

However, I have also had horses with DPs where their feet were cut back a bit short by the farrier - yours hasn't just been shod has he?

In that case, a DP you can feel when the horse is at rest (i.e. not straight after work) is indicative of something wrong. In normal circumstances you should not be able to feel it at all. However, it sounds lke you have caught it early, which is a very good thing.
