Advice Needed

Tempi, this is awful!

On the plus side, pretty much every horse I have ever owned has come from a background of abuse - serious abuse over YEARS - and they have all come good with calm, consistent handling and you would never know it had happened. So don't panic to much that Archie will be permanently mentally scarred by it (not that I am saying it makes it excusable!)

I would be kicking up an absolute stink over this and the head of the person involved would preferably roll, failing that I would expect her NEVER to be allowed to handle my horses again!
If she is known for being a hard faced b*tch then I will put money on the fact that there are others on the yard who are noticing the same changes in their horses behaviour, but not wanting to say anything.

Good luck! x

I would be hesitant jumping to conclusions and would speak calmly to all the yard staff before getting worked up, it COULD have an explanation?

he snapped his rope 2 weeks ago and has been getting worse since then. its nothing to do with that as hes not been headshy until last night when i tried to get his bridle on.

Excelllent.

As a YM I would expect to be told if something like this was going on with a member of staff. Welfare is uppermost and I certainly wouldnt tolerate a livery being treated this way.

I would - I would give full details of everything you know and suspect, in a calm manner, without chucking accusations, but I think it is important she knows everything.

I hope it goes well tomorrow. By all accounts you are at a professional yard ( although it shouldn't happen anywhere ) At my previous yard I wasn't happy with a particular person handling my horse and refused point blank for them to handle him. I really don't like confrontation or upsetting people for for some strange reason I become very bravewhen it comes to Finn.
