Hi
I have a section d mare who is almost 5, she's my first horse and i've had her for nearly 6 months now.
I've had a bad week with her! I felt she was awkward to ride in my lesson on tuesday and just not her usual happy self. I think she's in season...she was pully nasty faces at me yesterday and tossing her head at me over the stable door, she was on her toes to ride and usually laid back to hack (quite spooky in the school), back at the stable after the hack she contnued to pull faces at me and if i was out of sight she was stressing and calling, nickering when i came back inside.
She had a really wet bed and as im only used to riding geldings this is all new to me. I did ride a TB mare for a year but she was not at all like this.
I just need some advice on how to deal with her. Do i continue to ride her as usual? Do i treat her differently? Help!
how long will this last? I understand that natives have different cycles to TB & Arabs.
