Hello everyone, my horse is due X rays next Tuesday so I'm sticking to ground work for now incase there is anything wrong with her back etc. However I have very shaky confidence mainly since she spooked a couple of months ago when I was leading her, running sideways into me nearly knocking me off my feet. Apart from that incident she leads beautifully, follows behind me or next to me on a loose rope, without crowding or barging (I follow Warwick schillers methods on leading since the incident and the almost instant difference in spooking and focusing on me is brilliant) however I can't shake my imagination since that incident. What if she runs over me again? I am so afraid of being trampled now and honestly feel safer on her back which of course isn't the answer. Its really eaten away at my confidence and I'm worried to lead her about anywhere even though she is calm 99 percent of the time. Is anyone else struggling with this? I feel its so unusual to have this strong fear and wild imagination about it? Thank you all in advance xx

I think someone like a confidence coach or a sports psychologist may be best placed to help you with this. I think quite a few do online coaching so that may be an option.

I follow a few on FB but typically I can't recall the names of any, hopefully someone else will be able to remember some! Flying changes coaching is one of them but i'm not sure how much confidence-type work she does.

Great I will check out the flying changes coaching now. I cant imagine giving up horses I did for a few years and was empty, but can't imagine getting over this either. Thank you x
