Advice re: Vit E dosage

UPDATE just about to pick up Lari but he has no ulcers. Best the vet has seen him on the lunge front end, slight lameness behind on right hind but nothing of any significance given his history.

Says to crack on and he will speak to pro rider about what she is feeling. Says as he is already 'down a little' on his hinds he wouldn't think about doing the op as he doesn't feel its beneficial to operate but would have to nerve block and scan prior if i insisted on op. He doesn't feel it is necessary to stop working him given the lovely rides he's given to the pro.

So good news. Bought the chaff and vitamin E so will give it a go.

I think it means the fetlocks go down further than they should, which is what happens with suspensory

Great news that ulcers can be ruled out.

Any horse who is 'a little down behind' must be suspected of suspensory damage though. It is what finished my dressage horse off - his hind fetlock kept on dropping further despite being retired at age 8.

One more question as ive been following with interest after having lameness problems with my own last year .
Vet says slight lameness right hind but to ride anyway?
Mine had 1/10th lameness and was told no riding until 100% sound. Does your vet not think the slight lameness is an issue?

It all depends on what you are doing? Some might say 1/10th isnt a lot, and probably wouldnt be affected hacking but schooling it may affect.
My horse has probably got soundness issues from pounding the racetrack for years but for what I want him for , he is perfect.

Others may not agree but it all depends on your discipline and where the lameness may be stemming from

Nope. Not all lameness can be attributed to pain. And its so very slight he feels it isn't significant. He says he's only seen about two horses in his career that he could confidently say wete 100% sound.

He doesn't look too bad, not a great photos but there are lots on the forum. He did say it was only slight.
