Last night we had to have my mums dog PTS.
She was a Papillion, she was attacked by a poodle a few hundred yards from her home. Both dogs were on leads, however the poodle was on an extender leader, that was not restrained to prevent the attack. The poodle simply appeared from nowhere and launched on my mothers dog shaking her and throwing her in the air, the injuries the papillion sustained were horrific
My mother is an old lady, she is in terrible shock. I need some advice, (maybe just a place to "talk") as I am so worried about my mum. Should I report the attack to police/RSPCA.? the poodle owners have been very good & paid the vet bill and they are also shocked it happened, but this poodle surely, at the very least needs to be kept muzzled in public & not allowed to go on an extender lead?
My mother will never get another dog after this, and the horror of the incident will haunt her forever.
