Aerborn Thermalux Rugs

I am looking at the above as a cheaper alternative to a Thermatex. Any one got one and if so what do you think of it? Any other recommendations as a good alternative to a Thermatex (in the same style).

Mark Todd range do a similar one to the Thermatex. (Fabric looks almost identical) I bought their outdoor rug which has got the Thermatex style lining and its excellent

I've got a Thermalux and a Thermatex and both do a good job. I'd say the Thermatex is slightly more efficient at wicking away and is also softer, so moulds to the horse more, the Thermalux one sticks out a bit at the back, but that apart it's a lovely rug.

Ihave the colin cook one, its fab, I prefer it over my thermatex as it has cross surcingles and doesnt press down on the withers or lose shape.

I'll second the mark todd coolex, i have two, one for each horse and I love them. They fit really well and don't pull back

With the Aerborn Thermalux and Mark Todd Coolex do you buy the standard size as opposed to a size smaller as you do with Thermatex?

I *think* you buy your normal size for the Coolex - that's what I've just ordered - waiting for it to arrive

My show cob (chunky!) takes a 6ft 6 or 6ft 9 in most rugs but I bought a 6ft 3 in the Thermalux and it was just right. I would buy a size smaller if I were you unless your horse is very heavyweight.

Thanks jnb my horse takes a 6'6" or 6'9" too so that is useful to know. I will be interested to hear your size verdict on the Coolex chumsmum.

I have the aerborn and the orginal thermatex's
Both are very good, the aerborn is thicker and has lasted me at least 8 years and stll looks like new!
I would really recommend it

I agree, Beau is a 7ft in rugs and his 6ft 9 Thermalux is a bit too long for him!
