After Watching the National.....

I really want to get on my horse and gallop

Anyone else get horsey urges after watching horsey events on TV?

Took my boy out and I think he thought he was in the national, did have a fast go round the fields and pretended we were. He's only 13.2 so no hope

I did the exact same thing on my 13.3. glad I'm not alone

We have some huge fields at the yard, and we took the horses up and galloped around in our little 'grand national' we even had some rustic fences in the field!

Yes me I rode this evening and was so happy that the National went fine that we did a celebratory gallop around the fields pretending we were winning it. Childish I know but it felt great...we can all dream

Whenever I see the images of Red Rum on the beach take a massive pull and looking so full of life I just want to get on my ex flat racer and go for a blast on the beach, we are not to far away from the coast, about 15mins in the horsebox and we are def going...hopefully we will get a clear run cos Im not to sure what his brakes will be like once he is in full flight!

YES! I decided i had to go for a fast hack this eve.. stupidly I also decided I wanted to use my new dressage saddle, its doesnt make for the most brilliant forward jockey-like seat!

I've just been out to do late night checks and told my gelding to get a good nights sleep ready for our Grand National reenactment tomorrow, we will be lucky to get out of a quick canter (not very fit) but I'm sure it will be fun all the same

Reg definitely had his "racing" head on rather than his "eventing" head this evening when Al was trying to have a last SJ pop before he does a BE100 tomorrow... Did point out he was a rubbish racehorse, and his siblings who were in the GN were also rubbish so potentially needs to consider a permanent losing of the 'racing' head

Do they ever (think they were rubbish, racehorses in a previous life?) I was watching an ex racehorse racing a very fit coloured cob up across a field, whilst cantering steadily behind on my own ex racehorse - who actually did win races......and we were laughing collectively to ourselves - the good ones know that they are just that, and have nothing to prove!

I suspect that going galloping tomorrow on our horses following the GN - is a bit of a 'Wimbledon' moment - but good for the horses - let them have some fun, and escape the indoor school mantra - spring cometh.......sit tight!
