So, the new year is coming up fast, where does time go??

I always like to come up with aims/goals for the year (although I always forget what they are  ) so what are yours??

I want to get Roo back into work (hope she stays sound now)
The plan is to get some lessons so that we can do dressage again.
(It may be an aim for 2012 with the set back in work) but we want to do a novice dressage test.

Possibly next winter I want to have the confidence to take her on a small xc course too.

- Compete in dressage with Toots
- Toots gets more mares to covers
- Get a dressage level higher with Charlie
- Compete at Medium level with Billy
- All the horses are fit and healthy the whole 2011!

- Back my youngster :D

- Lessons on the older beast

- Get the older Beast to at least ONE competition (preferably SJ)

- Find a sharer for the small Ginger one (or re-break her to harness so I can exercise her)

- Finish Building the stables!!

- Build a hay barn

Think that's enough to be going on with for now :D

I plan on getting my share to load and travel. Got half way there before the dark nights and snow set in but he might have forgotten it all now...

I also want to go to a small show. And i would love to be able to get around a clear round tiny course.

Thinking about it, these are the same aims as i had at the start of 2010. But the winters seem so long and there's not enough time to recover and fit everything in the summer :(

My plans are

-do our first working hunter, and attempt some more showing in general
-try and have pickle working more consistently
-have fun

- buy a lorry
- Take baby horse to first inhand showing.
- Take baby to first dressage
- Have more lessons with BD instructor
- Start small jumping courses (I hate jumping!)
- Go out to beach, forest more this year.

ACCOMPLISHED in 2010
- Bought ex racer from the track
- Fixed ex racer from various vet attendances!
- Re-schooled ex racer to work nicely in 3 gaits
- Jumped my ex flat racer over single small jumps and single XC fences (2ft!)
- Taken horse out in friends lorry a few times and becoming less stressy each time.
- Gave horse 2 months off for my knee op - Horse a bit explosive and vile - Worked through vile stage and becoming nice horse again (fingers crossed!)

- Get competing with Kao. Aiming for Elementary by Winter 2011.
- Take Kao to the beach :D
- Start Kao jumping!
- Go train for a bit near my friends in Germany.
- Get "the other one" leading, lunging, establishing some basic groundwork.
- Take "the other one" to some in-hand shows in the Summer.
- Do a tiny pairs course with Mother :D

Lots of things, but I'm not a very busy person :)

*Back my youngster
*Compete with my new gelding
*Work out what I am going to do with the silly mare, maybe put in foal again.
*Enjoy my horses!

I have a post on my website about horsey resolutions!

1. Learn to hitch up and steer a trailer
2. Pass my trailer test
3. Get some lessons and learn to jump
4. Go on my first fun ride - probably the Cotswold one (or another with optional jumps of varying sizes!)
5. Get all rugs washed, repaired and re-proofed at the start of the summer!!!

Just got a new loan horse and haven't been able to ride him yet because of the snow, I swear the only band of ice remaining is around his farm...
So aims are, start riding and bond with him.
Do some decent hacks out (due to various circumstances haven't had a canter out for 6 months)
A little xc schooling
Some pleasure rides
Have fun!!!
