Hello all, long time lurker first time poster. Dad has just rang to say aldi are selling jods, high viz reversible bodywarmers, riding thermals, riding socks and hoodys on Sunday. Should I avoid like the plague  or pick up some bargains to see me through the winter? Have you bought any of their riding wear before? Was the quality ok? What about sizings, jods come in small medium and large? Thank you all.

Oo, sounds positive, 12.99 for a kids is a good price!i'm a bit worried about the sizings tho, I'm kind of 12 legs but hips 14, can't stand baggy jods so might have to put up with a medium and an unattractive overhang, thank god for baggy jumpers:D thank you.

I'm a size 12 with narrow hips and i got their medium they are quite generous. Don't think there will be an overhang:) I got mine in summer and they are quite thin so maybe they do a heavier type now with winter coming?

I brought a pair of Jods last year and have been very impressed with the quality. They seem hard wearing and are quite comfy.

they say they are winter jods so hopefully they'll be a bit thicker, they also have a set of riding thermals for under ten snots so I'll be investing in those. I'll go for a 12, thankyou, damn my child bearing hips that will never bear a child!!!

Great then I will invest in another pair or two. I've had six weeks of box rest and unrestricted grazing so the extra stretch will be appreciated as I don't think I'll fit into any of my other ones and I want to start back riding next week.

I've never had bad stuff from aldi. The Bailey's is good, so is the pimms, and the wine, and the cheese, and the chocolate etc etc etc

Does nobody else refuse to buy horsey gear from non horsey shops?

I support my local, small tack shop - I get specialised advice, fittings and decent products.
I refuse to feed the supermarkets that have crippled our farming industries and are now trying to branch out into equestrianism, golf, swimming etc.

I got the jods and socks in aldis the last time they had them in and they are alright they do the job but i got a size large (im 12/14) and they are too big always falling down lol will def be in the line at the door waiting when they open on sunday morning for a hi-vis body warmer, a pair of jods and a btl of baileys ;)

I buy my food locally, but cannot afford to be so idealistic all of the time - I have a limited amount of money.

Also, I am already supporting my local farmer (livery), vet, farrier, dentist, back lady, riding instructor, etc.

If Aldi have gloves in - buy them, they are fab!

I have 3 pairs of Aldi jods 2 black 1 cream, the cream are slightly thinner material but more than adequate, all have long legs, I also bought 2 pairs of jodpur boots, black in case I ever get to show my lad, still in box and a brown pair I never have off my feet, the gin is nice.
I do support local tack shops, probably because Aldi doesn't sell feed, tack etc and yes you do get good advice, but what's wrong with saving money, it pays for a trip to the coast that we and the horses enjoy.
