Extremely Old Nag!
It's been all change here just lately so thought I should do an update all in one.
Last year, Freddy, one of the foster foals I reared from a fortnight old went off to his new home. A very precocious character, he's been broken, taken cubbing and is safe enough that he's the boy of choice for an older gent to go hacking with.
A month ago I sold the 3 year old by Ambrey Chester, Tonka who is going to be a dressage pony for a lightweight (really green with envy how lightweight she is!) adult who adores the very breath he breathes.
Then just this week I have sold Harry (the other foster boy) to become a showing and RC all rounder so it's the end of that era now. Although I love them all equally, Harry was the only one I cried over when he went banging and shouting down the lane, I felt worse than when I sent my son to school for the first time!
The same transporter fetched Tara back from Surrey for me. Tara is last years foal out of Alamo Lough and I hadn't seen her since last May as she went down with the mare to be covered by Simsar's lovely Spyder. Sadly she put up twins that couldn't be separated so had to be aborted but she's staying down there to try again this year. Tara was a bit smaller than I expected but in great condition and bless her seems to have settled in well. The only thing was that Dotty wanted to kill her while T looked on in sheer amazement at this teeth gnashing screaming banshee so she (D) had to be separated and just Kitty goes out with Tara for the time being. I'm hoping it's just D's hormones playing tricks as she is normally the friendliest of mares to others; just hope she doesn't act like that to her foal due early April!
Anyway, pics of Tara and Kitty taken yesterday; on the video you can hear the OH having a moan so sorry if there's a swear word or two and yes, that is sweat on Kitty, she was mighty upset that Dotty was taken out.
