So 5 weeks on from buying Gator and I decided she'd be ready for a little outing :)

We went to local eq centre for unaf SJ just to pop round 2ft class couple of times.

She loaded like a dream and travelled well. We got there and they were just finishing class before mine, so went got entered and got her ready. Wondered over to arena to hear them say they were just waiting for last rider, me!! So giving baby horse plenty time to take things in went out window quick spin round warm up couple pops over cross pole and then upright and little spread and we went in.

I was prepared for very baby round ie snaking and breaking to trot and spooking as it was her first time out, first competition and first time round a proper course.

Well she was unbelievable, no where hear as green as i was prepared for she just popped round sweetly as anything no reals pooking just little look and took it all in her stride. Finished with lovely clear and they announced i'd won!!! (was just single round clear round type class) i was practically in tears in line up just so thrilled with her.

Then decided to jump next class just bit bigger, she again jumped well but got a bit keen and she is still quite tricky in her mouth so ran into bottom of couple and got legs muddled up so had couple down, but still thrilled she very brave.

The next class was 75cm, as she still seemed happy and keen decided slightly bigger track be better for her so entered. She was very good again they'd put couple beefy/spooky fillers in which i over rode but she tucked her little leggies up and popped round for lovely double clear and came 3rd!

I know places mean nothing at this point but to come home with couple of rosettes and to have had such an amazing experience first time out was truly unreal.

So proud of my girly, just got to sort out the mouth/contact issues which i think will just take time and patience and then it will get even easir for both of us!

So next is some dressage lessons, some more unaf sj outings and then for xc schooling! Any opinions on whether I should take a babysitter horse to our first go at xc appreciated.

thanks for reading, sorry if seems a bit gushy but just can't help feeling like proud mummy

Recognise her stable name, did she come from Di? She looks well in your photos. Think I saw you at Marchington on Saturday chatting to Jan but was not until later that the penny dropped as to who you were!
