Hi Everyone!
I recently bought my first horse since I was a teenager (yay!) and I have inherited a feeding regime that I would like to tweak slightly if possible.
He is a very chilled out 17 year old gelding standing at 15.2hh. Currently he is fed the following:
2 cups of TopSpec Senior Balancer
1 cup of Speedibeet
2 cups of TopSpec Turbo
I'm planning on phasing the TopSpec Turbo out gradually, given that he was competing on a weekly basis with his last owner and has come to me for a quieter life.
Mr problem is that the TopSpec Senior is pretty expensive (upwards of £40 for 20kgs) and I wondered if there was a cheaper alternative?
I like that fact that it has a joint supplement. My boy doesn't have an issue with his joints at the moment, but I feel prevention is better than cure. Is there any other balancer with a joint supplement available at a cheaper price? Or perhaps is there a joint supplement I could feed seperately alongside something else which would work out cheaper?
There is no need to worry about fizzing up, but he can turn into a fatty in winter.
Any help would be much appreciated, I've only ever fed straights in the past!
Thanks!
