a kind of magic

Question in title, it's for our blind dog who has a self inflicted wound on his flanks from stress (moved house 2 weeks ago when he is nearly 10 and always lived in the same place). He is settling in now although we had a couple of set backs with the in-laws invading to do lots of painting which meant I had to take him with me to stay at my mother's house for the weekend to keep him away from wet paint!
He is getting better and better every day with a little help from a prescribed calmer, however because he has already done the damage on this wound, if he is left alone he sometimes decides to chew a bit more. He can't wear Elizabethan collars as they disorientate him too much, currently we have him in an old t-shirt but it's not enough to stop him overnight if he gets stressed. I'm happy to give anything a try, also if anyone has any ideas to help him settle in more smoothly they would also be greatly appreciated.
