Alternatives to hestevard advanced pectigus

my horse is currently on this supplement following treatment for ulcers and on vet recommendation. It’s only available from the vet and is expensive, I would like to find a slightly cheaper alternative for longer term use, does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm part way through treatment for my boy and a lot of people seem to rave about Pectigus but lots on there also use Acid Ease, if you search up supplements on that group you'll see all the chats. There are good suggestions on there.

I'm not sure what I will go onto next...different things seem to work for different people it also depends where the ulcers are, hindgut or foregut. Lots rave about Ron fields but I do know people who have used that and it did nothing for their horses.
 
I haven’t used it, but looking at the ingredients it seems like you could buy them all separately and probably cheaper, just seems to be mostly calcium carbonate, magnesium, pectin and lecithin, with a few extras.
 
I’ve done a LOT of research on these since writing the above and am now using Science Supplements GastroKind. It’s the only one with any clinical research, none of the others have any including the Pectigus that vets push. Pectigus doesn’t specify how much of anything they are including, and considering it’s a small dose of 25g it probably isn’t doing much in those quantities. Only just started it and he never had any typical ulcer symptoms, just weight loss and dull coat and reluctance to go forward in the canter. So I’m not sure! He also had a joint issue which we’ve now medicated so will see how he goes x

edit to day he did have 4 weeks of Gastroguard and scoped clear, was grade 2/3 ulcers.

We did a course of omeprazole after treating the issue that caused the ulcers, then moved on to the Ron Field stuff, and now just use Brewers Yeast and Limestone flour.
 
I’ve just had my gelding scoped and he is being treated. It is going through the insurance now but I was looking at the vet supplement and it is the Hestegard Pectigus (Advanced). Having compared the ingredients online, Feedmark Ultimate Gastro Ease, has almost identical ingredients. The only difference is Laminaria (algae) and Soya.
 
Just wondering if anyone had any longer term follow up on these. My mare was scoped today and the nodule that was lasered earlier this year is showing as angry and inflamed (it hasn't grown back though and it wasn't as angry looking at her last rescope), vet is stumped so we are back on a short course of Mesoprostal and she's given me a sample of Hestegard Pectigus Advanced and I need to keep her on that until we rescope again so looking for something that works but won't bankrupt me. She's only 13.2 so at least I only have to give her a pony dose!

I supplemented pectin and lecithin which i seem to remember are the ingredients which coat the gut
