I am rapidly approaching 40 and for all my horse career have SJ. I have a homebred horse of my own that loves to event. Due to circumstances this year he has had no rider, as he is terrifyingly strong xc but never ever stops, and has never been out of the top 6 since he started two years ago. He has a few points left in Novice (3).
The point being is xc terrifys me I sj very happily 1.30 and so does he being nearly Grade A but he loves his eventing more. Is there anyway I can get my confidence with him to XC or should I just resign him to SJ for the rest of his days, which he does but not with the love that he has solid fences. Am I to old to learn a new job, or any riders that need a good horse, but where he will be treated like a king not a robot or worse as the last yard called him the diesel horse, and he would go everywhere for anything as he would cover the costs for the day out.
