Am i the only person in the world who doesn't like coloured horses????

there are many coloureds that i dont like, and the majority dont do much for me

however when they have nice even markings (and mainly more black) i think they can look stunning

very very few skewbalds that i like, prefer piebalds.

ohhh got to say you guys are bang out of order!!!! colour racists!!! I thought i was bad!!! and some of you are riding complete donkeys!!! not mentioning any names but more than one!!!

ohhh a way to make enermies!!! sorry but true!

Someone remind me not to read posts that have everyone expressing their dislike to something I own when I'm feeling really down, now feel ten times worse.

I didn't buy mine because they were coloured, I bought Gyp because he was cheap and Hattie because she was safe for mum to ride. The fact they are coloured cobs didn't come into it at all. I keep them as traditional as Gyp has a gorgeous long mane and Hattie is too tall to show hogged.

don't feel like that IC, I'm sure if there was a coloured loving post it would have more replys! You get what horse that is right for you at the end of the day and who cares if others don't like them as much! I Don't care if some people thing my horse looks like a big lanky dinosaur, I love him!!

Apologies IC, reading over my post mine did sound quite harsh

I do like the odd few, and I do like the lads in your siggy, some traditional cobs are stunning
smile.gif
Many people hate greys, but I don't let that get to me, everyone has their opinion and if you love your horse don't mind what other people say
smile.gif

Do you not like my coloured??
I like horses on their merits - I bought my horse for his personality and ridden potential and the colour was actually an aside.

Sorry Irishcobs, I didnt mean to upset you..... i am sure that if I owned a couloured horse I would be a great fan. I was just feeling that everyone was raving about the new trend (so hey you are fashionable without meaning to be)
grin.gif
but felt weird coz its not how I feel
confused.gif

But as a couple of people have pointed out there are lots of colours not to like the only one not mentioned yet is black!!! Wait for it, wait for it!!!

If I was buying again I would go for another black horse with white socks and blaze (if there was a choice and they were all lined up and equal) but would probably spend forever looking!!!

I may not have made my point very well.... cobs are great we have some... colour doesn't bother me one way or another it's all down to confirmation therefore health and ability for purpose regardless of breed or type. I tend to breed the oldest lines and TB's/ID's tend not to be coloured???
coloured was a sign of impure blood, not quality but this has to be redefinded with current breeding...
as regards some previous posts when they have confirmationally poor horses ridden badly they should dare not comment negetively - so coloured fans slepp well!!!

No you're not alone, not keen either. I don't do hairy, coloured or orange I'm dead boring and like dark bay, brown, some greys and that very dark chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail

I'm not keen unless they're blue & white but then I also don't like chestnuts, palominos, cremellos, white greys, red roans and appys except leopard spots....

Fussy? Moi?

Sorry guys, I shouldn't let things like this bother me, I'm not the type to care what others think. I've had some bad news today and just feeling a bit upset.

Nope, I am not a big fan of coloured's really, although I don't mind if they're finer built and coloured in an attractive way. Hairy coloured cob - no way!

Also not a fan of roans, appaloosas, or cremellos....don't like the eyes!

I love most solid colours though!

ets - I believe a good horse is never a bad colour, and I'd never hate a horse for its type or colour - just not my cup of tea!

Nope, they do nothing for me and as for coloured cobs . . . . ugh (sorry to all those who love 'em!)

horses for courses....

personally, for me, a coloured should be as hairy and cobby as possible. A traditional type. Am not so keen on the coloured finer types myself.
I bought my coloured before they were fashionable, about 9 years ago cos he was different

Thankyou Merlinsquest! I have to say, the black tail is a must have. Have seen greys and coloureds with white tails, and eww, what a job to keep them clean.

don't worry about it... horse snobs!!! I have horses with two different disciplined FEI riders... they have brought several times from me.... coloured have been an enlightenment... just soo happened like stallion! we have cobs too not just tb's and wb's if i knew how to upload pic i would show you... tried copying... my husbands cob... suffolk x is the most honest superb natured horse i have ever had the pleasure of knowing.. they are a gem to be treasured and if you were saying you where aiming at Badminton next year it may be different.

Erm.... I could be the most rubbish rider in the world with a hideously conformationally challenged horse yet I STILL think I am able to have an opinion re horse colour preference

Yea Badger has got a white tail.

Not too bad though as he never gets at all dirty anywhere else so his only grooming tends to be washing his tail! It does look pretty when it's not a yellow poo colour though!

I was making a point that confirmation IS the be all and end all ... RE: breed, type, performance not colour!!!
