Am I wrong to be annoyed?

The lovely little boy that shares my little welsh pony had a lesson for the first time today on my mare but with his regular instructor from the local riding school. I left them too it for the first half an hour or so but seeing as I finished all my jobs thought id have a wander over and see how he was getting. As I get over there she has her back to me and I hear her comment on how this fat little b**** is no good for the young lad as shes too much of a plod, my pony is deffinately not a plod I a fully grown adult struggle to hold her back at times and in the12 years ive ownes her ive never known her to be anything other than whizzy. After turning round and fully acknowlegding I was stood there she then continue to add that the only place ponies like these belong is at market :0 i have spent a lot of time and patience with my pony to make her the perfect pony she is today and was absolutely fuming to hear her say this! Then after having her stood still for a good 10 minutes she hit her on the face more than once because she was fidgetting and added how she hated owners who didnt teach there horses manners, if she hadnt have been stood around for so long she wouldbt have been bored therefore woulnt fidget. This is only a few comment that sge made about my pony

I feel silly still feeling annoyed about this hours later but how would she feel if anyone stood and talked about her pride and joy like that :/
 
I would go Ballistic and basically never let her within 20 yards of any of my horses again! Every right to be upset. Downright rude !
 
Was she aware that you were the owner? As the owner, I would have stopped the lesson, given her what for about smacking my pony and told her to eff off, out of little boy's hearing, obviously.

I'm afraid if anyone spoke about my horse like that and hit him in the face, they'd be on the ground. :mad:

Did you say/do anything?
 
Annoyed!!!!!! I would have gone absolutely nuclear. She had no right to say those things or touch your pony and in front of a child that probably idolises said pony just makes it worse. Constructive criticism is one thing. Bad language and derogatory comments are not useful. If I were you I would recommend an instructor you trust to teach him. She doesn't sound like the sort of person I would want around my horses never mind children. Don't feel silly she is just lucky you are more of a lady then I am or she would of had me teaching her some manners :-)
 
No i wouldnt be happy either and if it was mine would not allow a sharer to continue having lesson on my pony with that instructor.
Not so much for the horrid comments as everybody is entitled to there opinion but for the wacking on the face thats not on, and why did she have the kid stood around for 10 mins in a lesson? that time would have been better focused on working on what apparent problems she thought the pony apparently had.
 
If she'd have hit mine in the face then she wouldn't have said anything else, she would have been too busy trying to look for wherever I'd knocked her teeth to. Although she'd have been told to **** off back to her kennel before that point.
 
I'm a bit concerned why a young boy is riding a horse that even an adult struggles to hold back?

Other than that, I couldn't have stood there and watched someone hit my horse in the face. I'd have dragged her out of the manège and sent her on her way.

The minute she hit the pony in the face id have ar$e and necked her out the place cheeky cow and told her in no uncertain terms not to come back.
Id have been livid and she with anyone else who'd been around would have known it :mad:
 
what a twit! she is clearly jealous of your pony! she was prob saying all that because she wants to by it! and wants you to think its rubbish so you sell it cheap!! some people are just pure evil!

i would have been livid
 
It always amazes me that people think it is okay to talk like this about other peoples property.

I would never, ever dream of saying anything like that or hit someone else's horse!

Bottom line is that you don't throw your buttered bread on the floor - you have every right to refuse the instructor to teach the boy on your horses (was the kids mum there?) and therefore she misses out on income.

Gobsmacked.
 
Talking like that I wouldn't have risen to infront of a kid but would be making it clear to the parents that they were not to use that instructer with my horses again and why.
Hitting its face? Lesson would be stopped kid out of earshot and they'd be told exactly what would happen if their butt wasn't removed straight off and were they to return.
 
The instructor certainly qont be coming back after we had words but she was very lucky my other half didnt hear as he wouldnt have been so nice.

She deffinately knew I was the owner as the lads mother introduced me to her as being ponies owner.

yup! and if i caught someone hitting my boy in the face i swear i would not be responsible for my actions!
 
Ponies strengh has been discussed with parent many a time but aslong as shes kept in regular work with little boy and my sister riding her alternate days, the little boy manages perfectly well.. it only if she has 2/3 days of she gets too strong for him
 
Jesus Christ what an awful woman!! I would not ever be letting her on your property or near your lovely pony again!
I would be absolutely livid before she she even dared to hit your little pony!
 
I thought an instructor was supposed to get the best tune possible out of the combination in front of them not slag them off :(

Very unprofessional, you have every right to be upset
