Am I wrong to be annoyed?

 Am I the only one that feels as if I've missed something? Debt Collector post count is 2 and Mahoosive Eyebrows post count is 1, ME's reply essentially dittoed DB's first reply, which made DC respond back to ME with partly shouty capital letters?

Oh well, I suppose it is neither the first nor the last time that I've lost the plot. :)

so irresponsible of dog owner,u shud report it to yard manager, they shud get onto it straight away if ur one of the good liveries that pay well and on time then they will help u have a word with dog owner,if u dont pay livery then they wont stand up for u i suppose.....

Either I've lost the plot too, FL, or there's something funny going on round here :D

What's with all the irrelevant references to paying livery?

Glad I'm not the only one not understanding what is going on. :D

;) But maybe it is contagious...

Although there is probably something much less exciting going on.

Perhaps in the end someone will come out, and blame someone else...

I don't know.

My dogs come to the yard. I have 3. They wander around with me when I am on foot and are shut in the car when I ride, unless hacking when the youngest comes too. I also walk them through our fields with horses in. All my 3 have been taught to NOT chase horses. Having dogs around is great for desensitising the horses too and they are much less worried about noises in the woods etc. I would be mortified though if 1 of mine chased a horse as in my experience, the vast majority of horses need to learn to accept dogs around them.

You are lucky you didn't get dragged by your horses, pathetic behaviour, its obviously got a history for her to say that, keep it on a lead !

I've found yard dogs fine, it's livery dogs who come & play at being yard dogs that misbehave. Almost like they go into overload at the freedom.

When riding & having dogs around horses back end (& mine does not tolerate dogs doing this having been attacked by 2 gsh in past) & indifferent owners I ask them very nicely to call their dog off. When you get the 'oh he wont hurt he's only playing' response, I just point out that if my horse kicks their dog in the head my horse will be fine but their dog is likely to die (say it very polietly), they are shocked (like thought has never occured to them) & suddenly start to retrieve dog.

I wouldn't get annoyed at her, not worth the agro. Happens again just point out that if your unpredictable youngster kicked she will have a dead dog. Then it's her choice. If her dog goes on to nip & give your horse vet bill, then I would expect her to pay it. Do regard it as training for your youngster, as you will come across this again in the future.
