Amazing news!

The race is on... had a text from Penny's "mum" and she had been at the yard ages as everyone there thought she was about to have the foal! She has returned home but waiting to see if YO calls! YO had suggested teatime today, and it's 2 weeks since we discovered the pregnancy and vet said 2 weeks.
I am feeling very silly and fed up. I went to help at our RC dressage comp today, was doing sec/scoring with an old friend (good excuse for catch up natter) and after collecting some of the sheets managed to trip on the concrete yard and fell heavily on my side. I was holding score sheets in one hand and a mug in the other, mug didn't break but now I'm not sure about me as my ribs feel like they had a good kicking. I have to get a doctors appointment tomorrow as I was hoping for the all clear to go back to work, and now that seems doubtful. :( On the plus side, it has been a lovely sunny day, show went well with some new members joining and the venue as fabulous as we remembered from last year, but I could still do with news of a foalie or 2 ;)
 
Don't go back to work too soon, pneumonia is nasty and you'd be crazy to be a martyr and go back then set yourself back! Stay off so you can see foalie! :p

Hope you're ok and not too bruised: did you go down and not put your hands out to save yourself? :(

So many people have told me how long the recovery can take, and I know I'd be vulnerable to all the other illnesses the little darlings bring to school with them! Getting a bit bored and feeling guilty at not being there but then again I do want to see the foals :)

Just bruised I reckon, not too comfortable but bearable. I think I was too concerned about the score sheets and mug. I once knew of a lady who smashed both elbows whilst protecting her armful of clean dry washing when she tripped in her garden. That's just what us females are like - put other things first :p

Oooo how exciting :) Looks like you have a bit longer to go ( going off Tess so dont listen to me :o) But Penny is a lovely little mare !
 
I think Tess will foal first...maybe tonight, but Penny fooled everyone yesterday. YO called my friend to say come quick but then nothing. She was agitated and tonight she seemed out of sorts and just looked fed up. She keeps chucking her bed about looking for odd loose grains to eat but leaves bare patches to drive everyone to despair :rolleyes:
To add to the excitement tonight the girls also managed to catch a crow that couldn't fly... then they let it go near the rabbit/duck pen and it went and hid behind the fence :confused: Doubt it will be around tomorrow.

Penny had a skewbald colt, all well, she just missed the birth, photos have been taken!:D:D:D
I have an electrician coming this morning, so hope I can get down soon with my camera, but for those who FB more than me you might find some there!
How exciting! Must have been a "foaling moon";):p

How strange is that !!!! same day eeeeeek and of opposite genders too cute ! give you friend a huge hug and goodluck pat from us !
