These people have truly amazing techniques in training horses. Total harmony and joy to watch.
How many of us could even hope to stay on without a saddle I wonder.
The Parelli methods produce the same kind of stuff from what I have heard and seen.
Its strange how such unity and excellence so often gets such a slating on this forum from some of the contributors.

I wish I could do that on Faisan.
I've tried a little and canters, walks, turns, walks, but not as seen on this vid.
Until he says "stop playing Uncle Jr, and let's work"

Practice practice practice practice.. and a whole lotta practice.
Any horse who you can trust not to kill you without tack on can learn. That horse will eat, sleep and breath those movements. My horse has the temperament, and back in the days he was rideable I used to school in all paces bareback and in a headcollar (couldnt find a saddle to fit him, and he hated bits) He's very sensitive though. Maybe thats why I could do it with him. I don't think my welsh cob could, she's too interested with asking questions, guess its a youngster thing

I wasn't going to comment on this for fear of starting a massive debate... However... whilst I admire her riding to a point (there is no way I could do any of that without stirrups - let alone without a saddle!), it does to me compare with Parelli - especially when I think about the freebie DVD that came with one of the horse magazines that was debated on here and it's similarities with this video.

I personally don't think that horse looks overly happy with all the tail swishing and his ears being back which seems to happen to some of the Parellied horses I have seen. There is a small part of me that thinks that if it had been a Parelli person riding, it would have been totally slated.

Hey ho, I guess we are all allowed our own opinions

(I am now going to run away & hide!)

Stacy doesn't do parelli *PF shudders at the comparison

* She trained Roxy, her mare, the traditional way; with a saddle and bridle. It took her 2 years from when she was unbacked. Then she started practising without a bride... another 2 years. It took her another year to do it bareback. I don't think her horse looks unhappy at all (I do know what you mean about the parelli horses on that DVD and I think they looked a LOT crosser- if we're referring to the same freebie!) In fact, I think she looks a lot more relaxed than some dressage horses, SJers....
My opinion

I am not slating her riding at all, she is obviously good, I just wasn't all that impressed with the whole video really.

Oh, that Parelli DVD girl was a bit Cuckoo! I mean who buys a horse and doesn't think about where to put it?

Gah!

I just admire something like this and, as I said, wanted to share it. As simple as that.
Would like to do it but TBH, don't have time to try these skills... and, not sure if I am capable either.
Not interested; I have 7 lovely horses to train ATM, competing 2 in SJ and, some other youngsters coming soon.

She talks to her horse while riding, and the horse also exhibits a lot of mouthing and licking while being ridden. Ears back and tail swishing is common with some horses when asked to spin.

I will be honest and say I know very little about this kind of western riding, even less about horses spinning - I do bet that if that was mine he'd have fallen straight on his backside, co-ordination isn't really his strong point!

I guess it just 'isn't my bag' eh UncleJr! I am seriously lurving the grey in your siggie though...
