Hi was wondering if anyonw has bought the amigo bridle or breastplate? both look very nice and look ok quality but after the rug leaking am wondering bout the quality of the tack.

I brought an Amigo breast plate last year and to be honest I was quite disappointed with the quality. It was stiff and absolutely stank, was definitely not English leather. For the price I expected a lot more, especially as it came from Horseware.

Have you looks at the collegiate range? That's middle of the road price wise and I think the quality is really good!

I ditto collegiate and DH breastplates are very nice too - although the havana is more of a light brown. Obviously both will still need oiling to get the best out of them. I used Hydrophane leather dressing on mine and they are as good as new 12 months later.

My Friend has the Amigo bridle. Personally I wouldn't get one as I thought the quality was rubbish. She's had it about a year & already looks 'very worn' & really will need replacing soon

I would suggest looking at other brands as others have suggested.

I bought a 2nd hand Lemetex bridle at the same time as she bought her Amigo bridle. We paid very similar prices but mine was far better quality & still looks the business now
