About 18 months ago I sent some blades from my little cordless clippers to be sharpened. I filled in an online order form and got an order number to include with the blades but the company's policy was not to take payment until they receive the blades. I didn't hear anything from them so after about three weeks I contacted them to see what was happening. They said they had never received the blades but they would let me know if they did. I was a bit annoyed with Royal Mail but I hadn't sent them recorded so there was nothing I could do. I consoled myself that at least I hadn't paid to sharpen them and lost them on the way back, wrote them off and bought new ones. Yesterday, I got an e-mail from the company. They had been having a sort out and found my blades in a box of 'unhomed blades' (not quite sure what they are!) They were very apologetic and will be sharpening them free of charge and sending them back asap. They were emailing to check I was at the same address!
I'm a big believer that most lost things turn up sooner or later (I even found a ring I'd lost in the field in a bale of haylage 2 years later) but I wasn't expecting those to!
