I thought some might remember a post from a while back, talking about my lame anglo gelding. Its a long story i wont bore you with, but it ended with a vet giving a probable diagnosis of chronic lameness. He was turned away for the summer, with a view to having him put to sleep at the end. He has had a difficult and it seems traumatic life, starved and beaten from what we can gather, though we have no proof.
I posted when, the day we were to make the appointment, he was found to be sound as a bell. I rebacked him a month ago, and we have hacked on the forest and the road, walk trot and canter, and last saturday we jumped a small log. Nothing extraordinary at all, but it means the world to me, to do all this on a horse I thought I'd never sit on again.
Sorry this is a bit self indulgent, but for anybody who was wondering how he was getting on, now you know.
Thanks to everyone who gave us advise and support
