Took my mare to a clear round day today, only our second outing together after our very difficult start.

First of, for once....I WASN'T NERVOUS!!! Well, not much anyway, definitely nowhere near as much as last time! :p (Last time I felt physically sick for a week prior to our outing!) :o

Back to the same venue again, thought it would be busier then last time but I was wrong. We were the only ones there :o The fences where already set at 70cm so I said we'd start at that and see how we got on. Had a quick warm up and then popped round the course. Different course to last time with some new jumps (including a water tray), number 1 to 8 was fine to jump but then the course was really daft in the sense that it didn't flow at all, you couldn't go from one fence to the next unless you went round the wholllllle school, so I made my own course up which they are more then happy for you to do. Round the 70cm she was really good but slightly behind the leg, I was having to get after her a bit and it was difficult to keep her in canter at times but she was sensible enough and jumped nicely. No piccys from this as friend was struggling with the camera!

We then put the jumps up to 80cm and suddenly I had a much more forward, aka speedy, horse on my hands! It seems Moo liked to jump big! ;)

Felt like a much smoother round as she was taking me forward, keeping her canter better and putting in a bit more effort. We did have one or two poles but that was mainly due to me getting her too close to them!
Had a very quick break and then did one more round at the same height. Felt even better this time although did have a 'moment' after knocking a pole (video below ). Again we had a couple of poles but at this stage I'm not to worried about it.

The videos don't really show it but in the 80 rounds she did get quite strong so I had to really work on getting her back to me. Although none of the rounds where perfect I felt like we had a successful outing and I can see where we need to improve. At times I felt like we were really together and reading off the same page, other times it became a bit messy and we were not working together as well as we could do. That will come with time though and at least I think we were on the right track. The lady running the CR commented on her improvement since last time we where there (2 weeks ago!) as did my friend which is slightly odd as we've only jumped about 4 jumps since then!

So, another great day with my big superstar, I really am excited to see what the future holds for us both, she is amazing and is teaching me a huge amount every time I ride her

A few of my favourite pics, CC welcome 'emphasis on the 'constructive'*

There are a couple of videos of our rounds but they are taking forever to upload!

Wow shes very neat in front isnt she! She looks lovely and Im sure you will have a great time with her

Thank you, she's very neat and as you can see she doesn't like knocking them lol! I might get a stud girth for her just so she doesn't kick herself!

Crackin pics! She makes a nice/natural shape over the fences. Well done you two!

Thank you, I'm really pleased with her :)
