After spending the week leading up to championships on phone/emailing HQ trying to sort out their timing mess up. The weather was really my last on list, perhaps it should have been first!!!!

We arrived at 11.30 on show ground at it was already very wet and first attempt to park on grass we almost got stuck but clever driving from mate and we recovered to a DRIER spot!!. Got passport checked – what a joke , we didn’t have to present gg with passport, just paperwork. So in theory we could have had any old nags on board!!. Stable boxes were fine and even with weather they did hold up to weather so that was a very good plus.

Once our gg were settled popped off to do help and ended up helping build sj course, lovely course and very well build, but we’re doing this in major rain storm!!! And lucky course builds wanted lunch and said we’d finish, thank god as need new dry clothes!!!.

By now most other team members where turning up with various different approach to horses passport situation. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

After a wet night Saturday arrived, spent morning helping with style team, and they did very well - 12th. Our RR C de E turned up and said that the weather she had just driven though was worst she’d ever experienced so we all started praying it would hold off before our test. Everyone turned up at warm up all booted and suited, so we could warm up for test. Warm up went well with no major issues so then we presented the team for our test. As we rode around outside of arena, the arena was already trashed and looking like a ploughed field!!! So before test we all smiled at judges and I couldn’t resist saying to judge “Good job we’re all from Good Farming Stock!!!”

as you could either cry at arena or laugh!! And I defo choose latter.

Bell rang and off the test started, amazingly the ground conditions really help us and keep the pace even and our spacing was prefect!!! You just couldn’t really get the full medium pace but the team did it best test all year, with only one minor hiccup, mine decided to hump into canter but I shut him up very quickly and slotted back into ride within 2 strides (with me thinking OOOOOOOOOOOO sh1t, glad I applied my super glue). After test I was so chuffed with team, as there were only two very minor errors throughout the 12min test and it was our best test by far and from a personnel point of view I felt it was better that last year.

Next watched our first pair team and they did foot perfect pairs test and then we followed, we had beautiful trot work but canter work was a let down!

airs above ground NOT a required element! But conditions nor timings had not worked in our favour, but hay that’s life or dressage!!!

Then to normal wait for results, in end we were 6th in RR, very, very disappointed with result
shocked.gif
as C judge had us 2nd
grin.gif

but side judge didn’t like us

!!! But at least that judge was constantly harsh!

.

Picked up rossies and made dash for stables to load and TRIED to disappear. Then it was horrific to get off site with only two tractor working and them trying to get Juniors on and Senior off it was a totally nightmare plus it was very dangerous as people were flooring and slipping and sliding around between horses, riders and tents!!!

The weather was terrible ,just as it was at horse trials champs really.
They are usually so strict on passports so I don't know how you sneaked in, lol, I bet they had just had enough and who could blame them . I think they neeed a big thank you and poor people going in there next week for another major show!. Were Town and Country filming on Sunday as you may be on tv!

Well done

Our club did well - senior style team 10th, senior dressage team 10th and we had an overall senior prelim dressage champion
grin.gif

We also had an individual junior 3rd in Novice SJ but don't know other junior results yet

Nats uk sorry to hear about your horse hope you get him sorted but well done to your team.
I didn't go because I had to work but I can imagine what it was like ...I have done the washing!

oooooooooooooooooooo i did think i may see you, as you were jumping close to one of our members. Style jumping i couldn't work out how they were judging that class or what judges wanted to see.

I hope Bane is ok and Well done to your club good set of results there

O well done you, and in fact well done everyone for competing at the Champs in such awful conditions. It's so much nicer coming home with a few ribbons when you are cold, wet & covered in mud isn't it??!!!! Congratulations.
As far as passports : we went to BRC XC Champs at Aston & H.Trials at Offchurch and they were very, very strict on checking. Even scanned microchips. Had to climb in back of our lorry to check the passports matched the horses before we were allowed into the parks...so were very thorough. Like Carthorse says...they were probably really fed up ...and I for one don't blame them!!!

I know i was very, very shocked about passport

NAR PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS we were to early as there was NO PASSPORT CONTROL and we just drove on unchallenged, and i cos i've been RC long time i knew we need them checked

It was a fab weekend so huge thanks to both you and Helen for "hosting" me in Helen's little house - the guest bedroom was by far the best on site

I thought the club did absolutely fabulously but the 1st prize deffo goes to Helen for her driving skills!!

So sorry to hear you didn't make it

I've been looking out for your report.
I hope Bane's ok. Healing vibes are on the way.

Our Novice SJ team had a bit of a nightmare. The 2 older horses coped reasonably well, but the 2 younger ones really struggled with the ground.

Well done to everyone who went & competed.

Seems you enjoyed it despite the weather. Well done on some good results. I think Spud is trying to tell you he wants to be an event horse with his humps etc!

Your so right!!!
Just got everything crossed for weekend for getting a run at pontispool as he so needs a good gallop and pop
