Another Hog or not to Hog? *Pictures*

Totally agree with Pedantic. Why hog? But, leaving that aside, I don't think it would suit your horse. It can look smart on 'sharp' cobs but she isn't that type, from your photos.

I speak from experience. My 'sharp' cob came hogged. The flies drove her mad, she had no protection, and I had nothing to hang on to. It took two years to grow her mane out. It's beautiful now. She's a mahogany bay with black points, and the mane and tail are quality hair, like a TB. Why the dealership she came from hogged her I don't know. She has much more presence now. So, I'm definitely on the No Hog side.

to be fair she isnt the correct type to be a show cob so if you want to hog to show her i would be keeping her hairy .

What is the correct type for local shows? She has lost a lot of weight since those pictures and now looks much more sporty but nothing I do will make her drop that apple butt! I just don't understand 'type' really?

Well it looks like there is a definite majority of 'HAIRY' so I think I will be learning to plait!!!
