Although I have no photos, and we have a distinct lack of matchy
I watched my instructor school my recently backed 4-yo today, and he is looking fabulous. Given that he isn't really built or bred for dressage, he is looking so balanced right now.
He is doing all of his lateral work (shoulder in, counter shoulder in, haunches in/haunches out, and leg yielding) in trot now, and has recently started work on counter canter and also walk-canter-walk transitions.
When he had a bit of a strop today (yes, he's not perfect lol) you could just see the potential for a magnificent piaffe (fab "sit" with the haunch lol).
All I have to do is man up, grow a pair and actually ride him, rather than fannying about... though I'm now blaming my saddle for making me unbalanced all of the time, need to go back to the drawing board with that one :/)
It is still going to be awhile before I even think about competing him (since I'm having issues trotting a 20m circle), but I'm hoping I can get him out and about in spring, if I have conquered my cantering demons by then.
