Hi All,

It's always nice to have some non-biased horsey person feedback.

Both yards offer the same services on livery and basically the same price and journey.

Yard A
50x30 floodlight school
full set of of show jumps
yard of 10/12 horses
60x20 dressage arena to be used for lessons
Lessons on site
great hacking all year round
turnout 24/7 in summer
turnout in daytime and in at night in winter

Yard B
30x60 outdoor arena with showjumps (no floodlights)
60x20 indoor school
horsewalker
lessons on site
yard of 6 liveries , the rest schooling/breaking
hacking is great in summer but can get flooded/boggy in winter
turnout 24/7 in summer
restricted turnout in winter - can sometimes be only a couple times a week if the weather is bad

What's making you consider yard B when yard A has everything yard B does and more?

I could never go back to a yard without a floodlit area now that I have o̶n̶e̶ three.

Yard b has an indoor school and a horsewalker?

But personally I’d go yard A as turnout & hacking more important to me

I was assuming the indoor would have lights in yard B? Tough one - we had no use of the school for a couple of weeks during the snow which was annoying as we couldn't turn out either, so I'd have given my right arm for an indoor. But when it's not snowing I'd def want to be able to turn out even for a short time each day during winter...

Yard A for sure, the lack of winter turnout and winter hacking at yard B would be a no for me. Indoor schools and walkers are way down on my priority list.

Hmmm, do they have any hard turnout at all on Yard B or is it literally in the stable all day? If thats the case, yard A although the indoor and walker are very very tempting, id rather have my horse out every day (on hard turnout for a few hours, not just an hour in a small pit) in winter over being inside on a rotten day to ride.

Unfortunately nothing on yard B bar the horse walker

A, certainly - better hacking, better turnout in winter, and still good facilities in terms of having a good sized surface and jumps.

Another vote for yard A - although I'd want to triple check what the turnout rules are in winter as I've been stung by the "daytime winter turnout", when in actual fact that was only if it was dry - which winter rarely is!

Yard A for me too!

Turnout & hacking over winter are so important to me :)

An indoor school is obviously lovely - but realistically, with a decent coat & waterproof breeches/chaps I get by every winter.
