Another Please Help Re Puppy

Another one which might nto be agreed but Dylan was a ankle nipper when younger.

So we had some old keys in a small cake tin that we carried around the house, when he grabbed ankles I hit the wall with the tin, he would startle but soon realised biting= horrible noise. He is still mouthy doesnt hurt/ leave a mark but I think that is the rottie in him but all we so is "no" and he looks at me as in "please I just want a little nibble".

We 'yelped' with our dogs when they were pups and that seemed to work, mimicking their mums.
Our GSD now approx 17 months old (rescue) knows nothing and is a bit too old for yelping, so we literally hold our hands up and say (firmly) "ah ah, friends now" and she's quickly learning that that means stop.

yeah a yelp with a pup or a "enough" with an older dog would work :)

Not quite the same but i play fight with our 5year old springer x.... soon as i say "enough...no biting" she stops...never ever had an issue (i trust that dog 100%)
