Another post re Cleveland Bays being useful sorts

Just noticed these threads and loved the pictures, particularly the holding the bowl ones. My PB CB Ruben was stabled next to a little Arab mare at my last yard. The walls between stables were quite low. After finishing his feed he would pick up the bowl and hold it over the wall so she could lick it out. But when another mare replaced the gelding on the otherside, Ruben decided she was better looking and stopped holding the bowl for the Arab. The new mare was not interested in his bowl (preferred being groomed) so he stopped holding it. He never looked at the Arab again even though she hung her head over the wall and gazed at him. He only had eyes for the new mare. Unfortunately we never got round to taking photos before he stopped doing it.

firm - I knew that Private Collin was by BHG, sadly he seems to have disappeared off the eventing scene now. What was your mare's breeding, as the three that Sheila Fenwick has bred have all come out very different: Kinross has a full sister who is destined for the show ring.....as a small hack! (I think I got the freak when I got Ross).

rollin, I know what you mean about the earth shaking as I feel like that with Arthur, but oh my goodness he covers the ground. Today out hunting he has added crossing rivers to his CV - nasty slippery steep bank on the way in, and he went without a lead, clever lad.

Lulu_CB, that is such a sweet story. Obviously CBs have a charisma that is not only appreciated by humans, but by horses too.

Stoneridge Merindah Jundah has JMB cert for 15.2hh Borderfame Prince Charming her dad is 17hh. At her first show she ws champion small hunter and reserve hunter champion.

Two months before we moved house she won Riding Club Champ and Royal Highland Society Perpetual Trophy. At the same show she qualified for Scottish Masters as Small Hunter, which we could not attend, because of our house move. She we think would have qualified for HOYS if she had not caught a cold two days before her qualifier.

All my mares are Chapmans and I am very interested in Andy Dell's work which I think will be very important for the society. I love little horses. Headley Britania won Badmington 15.3hh, mare and chestnut!!
