Yes, we think so. She has a dorsal stripe. Happy with bay though as well.

Buckskins dont have a dorsal stripe, although they can have countershading which looks like one, but so can bays and new born foals as part of foal camouflage. It will be interesting to see how she changes, they can go some really odd colours before settling on their adult colour. My Moneys on bay though

You are right! This mare's other foal that I have (now 6) is a buckskin and has no dorsal stripe. Sorry, got things the wrong way round - v tired - think foal is a dun rather than a buckskin.

One of my bay Arab's has a dorsal stripe in summer he is very light like a golden dun almost, he also has light lines and flecks in his black leg markings.

What are you trying to upload from? On my iPhone there is a little bit at the bottom that says actual size in the bottom right corner and I then pick a smaller size.

She can’t be dun as no dun gene in her breeding. But the sire is a very bay looking buckskin so your filly might be the same. Or she might be bay…. Interesting to watch and find out! (I couldn’t wait so I tested my baby at 2 days out to find out if grey or not )

I'm so proud of her. She barely broke a sweat, foal was out in 10 mins and she looked back to her "super model" self straightaway. She's being a really good mum.

Tulira Darog , got to meet him at the stallion show . Just loved his attitude. Plus the owner showed me photos of him giving bareback rides to children . That did it for me

Oo, my Connemara is by Tulira Darog. Hope scan was all positive and will watch with interest for pics next year!

My pony is a cracker, just an insanely good egg, as well as being pretty useful at just about every activity and a very easy keeper. Would certainly recommend the bloodline.

That’s fab to hear, he really does sound a wonderful chap . Even better that he passes that on . It seems a well known and respected stud . She scanned in foal last week . Having the heartbeat scan next week

Well, I'm wondering if those of you who thought foal was bay not buckskin were right! Manager of where she was born was adamant that she was buckskin so I went with that, but underneath the bright bay foal coat I can see a darker brown coming out on tips of ears and round eyes. Am I right in thinking foals are usually born lighter than their adult colour? I'd be very pleased with a dark bay like her mum so I'm hoping so.
