OMG it's that time already.
Again.

What's everyone got planned?

Quiet one here, Kira is still on holiday after her big weekend last week, Salty is remembering what she learnt in our lesson on Tuesday
I have a friend coming to stay for a couple of days, haven't seen her for a few years and she's going to be my bridesmade so won't get much done then  as lots to catch up on.
Pick them both up again next week.

Have fun everyone :D

I'm horse viewing.
Got a very smart horse planned to see on Saturday, about 30mins down the road, 16.1 bay gelding 7 yrs, done some BE. However, think I found my dream horse (16.1 chestnut gelding, done a lot of SJ, fun type) yesterday so if the one on Saturday is not for me, I'll put an offer in on this one.
Village BBQ on Saturday pm - hopefully the weather will hold.

This weekend is my first ever competition (at age 45...)
Unaffiliated intro dressage on a RS horse.
Quietly bricking it over here in the corner.

Good luck! You'll have a fab time! :)

After the fun of RoR Camp last weekend I was inspired to enter dressage this weekend. First time doing two prelims and the classes are huge so going for fun and to give Ed another good experience.

Was meant to be taking Millie to her first dressage, but I’m so unwell this week that I just can’t muster the energy. Managed a couple of hacks and couple of sessions in the school but I’m running on empty. Seriously hate my body sometimes.

Millie is just fabulous, everything I wanted and more and she’s more than ready to go out now and tackle a basic test. Just need my body to catch up!

Will look at Diva this weekend too, she was lame behind last week, no idea why, so she’s been on bute all week and resting.

Got Combined training on Saturday and doing our first 100cm course together competitively so fingers crossed the nerves don't get the better of me.

Hope everyone else has a good weekend with their horses!

Marching about with NF who has the all clear to move from in hand walking to ridden walking of 40 mins daily.
New addition will be doing quiet hacking with walk schooling as I go on Sat, and off to a gathering on Sunday with her. Really still debating going as I cannot abide the M25, let alone on a hot day, including taking a very novice pony to its 1st party!

Good luck to those competing :)

Quite an exciting one for me actually. My boy is doing his first ever BE event. Admittedly not with me, but will be exciting to watch him go round. This will be his last One Day run until after Area Festival in August, so after this we will be focusing on dressage again.

Also enjoying spending some time with my girl who has been a bit left out lately as Will has taken the spot light over recent months.

Area festival run through on Saturday

And then I’ll probably be too busy fawning over the new addition to do much else ;)

Outdoor is finally finished so we just need some rain to bed the fibres in before we ride in it - might put off my ride tomorrow until the evening so I can claim first dibs :D

I've got a last minute entry to an unaffiliated driving trial. Its short format on old turf, so I'm going. Any plans for affiliated trials have been shelved as hes too precious to me to be doing 15kms at speed on this ground!

I'm moving yards on Saturday :) :) Going to a nice yard with immediate access to a bridleway (part of the Golden Button ride route), lovely 20 x 60 school with new surface and mirrors, and individual turnout as part of a shared field so I can restrict J's grass intake and he can still have scratchy sessions over the fence with his neighbours. Can't wait :)

Rarely for me, I've no concrete plans for this weekend... F and Daisy did XC on Tuesday and then she had her back done.

Fionn has had his back done, a new saddle, and his bit changed after a shocking performance at the show last Saturday. He was REALLY not happy in his mouth.

Slightly stuck with what to do next as his teeth were rasped about 8 weeks ago.

Do I get my vet out again, or book an Edt? Veering towards vet tbh, maybe he will x-ray for wolf teeth?

So I don't really want to push either of them. Lots of stuff on but the ground is so hard.

Have fun and good luck to all competing!

The Honda From Hell™ is leaving tomorrow (finally) so I'll be spending Saturday waiting around for a customer from Sheffield(!) to turn up with his resto job. Fingers crossed he turns up early so I can go and have a stroll down the land with Mads :). I'm still struggling with my back so she's not doing anything apart from walk 5 minutes down the lane once or twice a month; luckily there's very little grass at the moment so I'm not having to be paranoid about her weight. I might also investigate getting hold of a western style saddle to try out to see if that's more comfortable for me.

Worth a go with the vet I'd say. Kira had some blind canine teeth that made her quite unhappy, I got the dental specialist vet to get them out under sedation about 18 months ago.

Having a saddle fitting today. Looking to finally get a jump saddle after being earth bound for 11 months. Looking forward to jumping again, but testing a jump saddle might be interesting as neither of us have jumped for 11 months.
Other than that nothing special.

Uncharacteristically quiet for me - Max is sold so he's being wrapped up in cotton wool till his vetting on Tuesday. But as we don't have the cash in the bank yet we can't start pony shopping. (We bought Max when our other pony was under offer and then she failed the vetting so I am not counting my chickens this time!) Ginny is not-quite-right so having a fairly easy life though being kept in work on vet advice. But not competing or doing anything overly ambitious. And I have no plans with Amber either. Need to make some really! Have fun everyone and good luck to those out competing.

Nothing this weekend apart from a jolly up on the South Downs tomorrow morning. But we do have SJ and XC clinics planned for next week (Tues and Thurs!) :biggrin3:

Wishing all those good luck and good fortune for holidays, 1st competitions, outings, rehab, re-energising and enjoying their new horses or trying potential new horses.

I’m only free on Saturday and found it a really odd weekend, could only find ONE single thing to do! Usually there are gazillions, and loads on when I’m not free, so v annoying to really want an outing and there is so little on. Im booked onto a sj clinic at BCA which is a new venue and a new trainer. Went for 60cm in view of this, so I can continue to consolidate the good work we’ve been doing and hopefully maintain my very fragile confidence. Hoping it’s not too stinky hot!

Have fun everyone! Lev, your new yard sounds absolutely lovely. I hope you and J are really happy there. I've been teaching mum to lunge (and she's doing a fine job) so I'll be doing that tomorrow morning. Then the rest of Saturday will be unhorsey-filled with my local city's pride event. Can't wait to get covered in rainbows and drink! Then Sunday I'm borrowing a friend's pony to chuck a boy up onto for his first ever ride. I'll be sure to report back on that!!

With 32 degrees forecast Team AA will be standing under the hosepipe and doing a lot of moaning.

Team draft horse feeling the same. Militaire's legs need another wash with the feather mite stuff and in 30 degrees I don't care for once if he soaks me doing it. Looks like I'll be up silly o'clock to ride the other one before we melt. I'm over the heatwave now!!

Can join in this weekend :D Baby pony has Hunter Trials on Sunday, just an easy training round for us. Might pick and choose what to jump.

Monday she's leaving for her big trip South (8 hours in a truck, 12 on a ferry and then another 3 to her final destination - regular depot stops so will take about 4 days  ). I follow on Wednesday and will hopefully meet up with her on Thursday down there. I have everything crossed it goes well, I have had enough bad luck this year with my horses :( The shipping company comes well recommended and respected, so I am slightly(!) put at ease.

I feel like I have been waiting forever to be able to post on this thread.

This weekend I am doing an intro test on my loan horse. Had him 6 weeks now so the goal is to start and end together!

Last time I competed anywhere was over 11 years ago, and for my new boy it's his first ever competition - so not expecting a great result (I'm far too rusty) but as long as we have fun we have a great result - and the first building block in place.

I’m horse shopping - looking at a grey ISH tomorrow. Maybe see if there is anything else suitable, have seen a chestnut ISH on HQ that I quite like aswell so may see if that is available to view over weekend. I’m not in a hurry.
