Just love him and agree that that canter looks very comfortable. Hope he does more in the RS than just endless school work - not great for big horses.

Sitting on my hands right now ? seems to be taking life in his stride thankfully - something about Ed isn’t there..............

that advert says they have owned him 4 months, but the 'first ride' post suggests he was bought not long before the middle of august. So more like 4 weeks. I don't think the eye make up does him any favours TBH.

He sounds like a lovely lad and deserves a long term home where he can be loved. I wonder why they decided to sell rather than use in the riding school?

I think that's his original advert and hes since been bought by the lady doing the "first ride" post. Both contact numbers are the same in the first ad and the horsemart one

Ah, my mistake ? was looking for something else and there he was, should’ve checked the dragon driving add. Wonder why they don’t take ads down when sold ?‍♀️ Bet they still get calls for him ?

I missed this the first time round and actually recoiled when I saw that head. My penchant for unusually shaped noses is, thankfully, just a rugby player thing and definitely doesn't extend to horses!

But he seems an absolute darling and that's the important bit. I hope he has a great life in the riding school and is adored by many.

I, too, have only just found this thread. When I started reading it, and saw that it was created a couple of weeks ago, I was secretly hoping that I would end up reading that somebody here had bought him! I would have loved to have followed his progress.
I think he looks rather magnificent, but I am not sure I would like to try and find bridles that would fit him.

These are the sort of horses I grew up with, but when you are on top, and they are doing as they are asked does it matter? Perhaps it because the duds went to the meat man, but I can never remember them being lame. Our PC schoolmaster was a traditionally bred horse, from the head to about his knees he looked normal, then you got further down, and the rest of the legs belonged to another horse, had a gait like he was a drunk rolling a glass, and you were definitely shaken, but never lame in the eighteen years I knew him.
Method. You take an OK mare, which someone has outgrown and its stuck in the back field, add one stallion with a local name, if you were lucky it may be HIS or just a 'good jumper', and has a head collar made of baler twine. Mix in paddock, or stand in yard to cover, and wait for the result. Load back in the trailer. Money changes hands.

...and not always money changing hands. I've seen the stud fees being paid in the form of a Jack Russell pup and a bag of second hand clothes.

The lady that has him posts regularly on the Dressage Cobs facebook site. She's got some nice horses - including a Lipizzaner that is competing at Medium, so hopefully he has found a good home.
