Anti rub vests

there is none i know of, i have been though quiet a few over the years
my best one to date is a supreme products lycra one
been great for me as it has a strap that goes between front lets to a belly strap, which stops it twisting, its not as heavy as a fleece one so my gelding doesn't sweat under it, and its know 3 years old, its had all sorts plastered on it and every time it washes it comes nice.

i would say they cost a bit more then other but it has done well compared to other which lasted less then half the time! i had one which did a week before falling apart.

my gelding used to hate having it over his head but i would rather it up so he could see straight though and now popped his head in quiet happily

I always buy from Bossy's bibs and find them brilliant. If you got one large enough there is no reason why you couldn't cut through it and sew your own velcro or poppers fastener.

this, except I think the reason why bossys bibs are so good is that the seams are flat against the horse with nothing to rub, so you'd need to think carefully about where to site any fastenings...
If I've got a headshy one, I scrunch them up to go over the head so it's really nothing more substantial than a neck strap.

I totally agree milliepops but I think it could work if you kept the silky material next to the horse and had fastenings underneath by the loop where they won't rub :)

I scrunch mine up too.

Another scruncher here, the ponies don't even notice them now

the best I have is a lycra material with a netting layer over so the rug slides over the netting which I think is clever

I haven't seen any that don't go over the head but would imagine that (if they don't already do one) someone like Bossy Bibs or Snuggy Hoods would customise one if you paid

My friend's horse has calcification in his ears and won't tolerate things being put over his head. She has Bossy's bibs for him with velcro down the middle of the chest. Don't know whether they made them especially for her or are a standard option, but she certainly didn't get the needle and thread out for herself.

Another who's scrunched up a Bossy's bib for an ear-shy one ...

(PS Must be Monday. I keep reading this thread title as 'Anti rub vets' ... ;) )
