Looking through the forum at the sig piccies, I haven't seen many pure bred arabs. Are there any out there?

Here's a couple of pics of my boy who will be 20 in a couple of months. Would love to see some pics of your arabs!

Meeeeeeee! :D

Have a look in my profile as I have a few pics there. The grey is pure arab and the chestnut is an Anglo-arab.

PS. Your boy looks fantastic for 20! Well done. :)

Thanks. :) As the grey is only rising three, I'm looking forward to many years with her. How long have you owned yours and what attracted you to the breed? Whenever there is a 'your worst/favourite breed' thread on here, people seem to either love or hate them.

Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heres my 10 year old russian x crabbet arab. Due to foal in eight weeks time.

Your boy looks like a nice chap! as others have said, fantastic for his age.

I've had Fred nearly 11 years now. We've had some lows during that time, but many many highs! Before I got him, I'd only ever ridden an arab a couple of times before, so didn't know a great deal about them. When I started looking it was his name (of all things), that made me take a second look. He had the same name as my partner at the time! LOL I went to see and ride him a few times and was totally besotted, he's definately got a "forever home" with me! Always wanted a grey too!

Hi,

Oh there are plenty of arab people on here :) and some absolutely stunning horses.

What's the breeding of your Fred?
Not Sarawan by any chance? (I am a nosey pedigree junkie)

I have had arabs for over 20 years now, I tried not having one and failed miserably, so now I have one old prima donna (Amurath Baikal x Hal Breette)that rules the roost, she's retired from broodmare duties now and is my riding horse. I also have her 3 year old Quarab daughter.

Gugglebum, I hadn't seen the book before. Lisa was my Vet back in Wales, small world eh?

I love love love them...I was looking for an arab when i spotted my spanish chap and fell in love. but I used to have a polish arab on loan and he was awesome! Must try to get some of his old piccies scanned in. I like a good solid arab that you can go out and have fun with. I was in my element out in Africa last year when given two endurance bred arabs to ride out on safari!

Hi Becky!

You know that I am :)

How's Fred doing? I haven't seen you for a while! I've just started getting Roo back into work, and we are working on him learning to stand nice and still while I get on at the moment. We managed to do this very well yesterday - so long may it continue!

Hopefully catch up with you soon :)

Love Ash...just my cup of tea!

I've been an arab fan since I was thirteen when I got my beautiful crabbet/old english mare Ashuer Miska - she's now 26 and retired. Then I got Ettie, a beautiful quarab, though she sadly passed away last year at only 7yrs. Now, just bought an ISH and miss riding an arab hugely!

Here's my beautiful Miska...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/Irethfelagund/miska-5.jpg & http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/Irethfelagund/kim4-2.jpg (and doesn't she know it!)

And the stunning Ettie http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/Irethfelagund/resized_edit8-1.jpg

Lovely pictures... I have an arabXTBxSB, does that count??;)
Ashthearab - what breeding is the black and white horse in the background of your 3rd picture? I have a 10 mth old foal that looks identically marked !!
Sorry to hijack the thread.

Indeed! I'm not sure if they wrote a book but the link takes you to their diary which they wrote up as they went. Some great photo's too of these 3 little Arab horses from Wales returning to the land of their origin. Its well written, and I was amazed at the intuition courage and intelligence these horses showed in some pretty adverse conditions. If you can get through the Turkey chapter without shedding a tear or two you're made of sterner stuff than me!

I loaned an anglo arab for about 3 years and loved him, but this made me see the breed in a whole new light. And also I gather from the diary that if you own an Arab and you want him to be fully appreciated by all who see him, just hack him over to the Middle East :)
