best report me quick!!!

Yes....with a cold towel over your face too :(

Didn't you know that's rule one of H&H?? Obey strangers??!

I love the pink nose! Very cute. *snigger* I used to ride in jeans and muck boots....Oh how far I've come.....

I actually have very little problem in my saddle (Farrington) but I ride a lot in the Bates/Wintec Isabell Werth saddles and they seem to make it worse? However, as I don't do much sitting trot/lateral work on Dante yet maybe I just haven't had to hit that snag! For the moment I've just noticed that I completely fail at getting my heels down in my saddle!? It's great that you've found a solution to your hip problem though, perhaps at some point I'll get to try an Innova! I do love Bates saddles generally :)

I should get paid this week so maybe next weekend :D I love the dark purple/beige-y striped cloth.... Not sure if it'd go with the ginger but oh well! :D

PS says Farringtons can have quite a wide twist, which can 'pull your hips apart', sounds like much the same action that the Albion SLK is guilty of! Could be that sitting aggravates it? I think new saddle, coupled with more chiropractor sessions will solve 99% of it. Hmm interesting about the heels - I found mine came down too much, which I guess was reactive to me using my lower leg way too much!

Me and PS both approve of your potential colour scheme-age!

OMG that photoshopped picture is so funny.... perhaps in future all hatless riders could photoshop hats into their pics and then the hat police would have nothing to do and would sod off for good!... and if someone could be kind enough to photoshop a thin person in my place on any of my pics i'd be eternally grateful.... :o:p

I love both Bruce and CS and think that both you, and PS, are fab riders ;)

I'm thinking of searching you both out on FB and then sending my big ginger boy to you to make in to the perfect dressage boy :D Honestly, when you next have trainers there please let me know as, although i'm eventing, dressage is the most important stage and gets you in there straight away (just needs to stop the 4 faults!).

I am also one that rides without a hat at home and in the school...there will be no photos as with riding at 4:30am OH doesn't have time to take photos and muck out :D Personally, it's a persons decision and that's it. If people do it then it's their risk, we're on a forum to enjoy the sport instead of having a go at people, Nikki said at the beginning a hat wasn't being worn = done!

Bruce is fab, just love him! he is looking very trim, a credit to yours and PS's hard work.

I cant believe people would send you nasty PM's :mad:, petty people with petty lives.

Good luck with your shows :) and I hope to see a lot more Bruce/CS updates over Easter :)

Thank you! I'm not a perfect rider, but love sharing my proud moments on here for everyone else to enjoy as well!!

You should search me out on FB anyway so I can spy on you and updates of pony related things!!! I will get Fran to add you onto Ken clinic invites list :) Yes I agree - whether you're an eventer, a shower, a SJ-er....flatwork is so so important and is the basis of everything else.

4.30am?! Good lord! That time of the morning does not exist to me (student!) unless I am drunk and still out partying!

Yes I did pre-warn, but *some* people can't help but stick their nose in. Oh well!! The rest of the comments really are worth the habit; as I've said before, I like that everyone can obviously see the improvements that I can!

Aww thanks :D

I know, totally mad, but I'm still here alive and kicking so I guess they'll just have to try harder *snort*

Fingers crossed it doesn't fall asleep in the ring; am willing to compromise my marks just to teach that it *cannot* fall asleep in the ring!! There will be many many updates - my OH is here for a week and is being fully employed (payment of coca cola and chocolate) as camera bitch!

*ROFL* me too and longer legs and firmer B**bs please? :D:D

Nikki I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet (im sure we will bump into each other at a show soon - tell Fran to point me out! ) but I cant believe the things I have read in this thread, especially when you took the time to put the disclaimer at the beginning as well! Some people really do need to get a life - so pathetic! I wonder if one of the famous riders such as Laura B posted hatless pictures they would set about them in the same way?!

I love all the piccies of you and Fran although the ones at the start of the thread have disappeared :( can you put them back on so I can have a look?

I'm off to the doctors in the Easter hols to see what they have to say about it, and will go from there probably, I do hope that my saddle is okay as I really wont be able to afford another for a while! :(
Just put some photos up of me riding on saturday which show my rather flat feet! I've just had a look at some other photos though, and they never seem to go down when I'm riding in those boots, even on other horses/different saddles, yet in my rather loose winter boots they do? So now I have to wonder! All this stuff can be too confusing :o

Glad it's approved! I can't exactly not go for it now can I?! :p :D

:D I shall ask her to acquaint us soon!

It's a bit over stepping the mark isn't it!!! Humph...Oh well!! Live and learn, there's always someone/thing trying to make everything difficult....

Haha....I don't know, they probably would - because some users clearly have more experience and knowledge than Laura B - a professional with oodles of talent!

Oh bum. Photobucket is being a total sod at the moment - so we are having to set up account after account to keep below the free 10MB a month....Grr!! Will try to sort - otherwise will just PM you a direct album link!

I love Bruce, absolutely gorgeous!!

You and PS both ride fantastically, wish I had legs like yours :D

As for not wearing a hat, like you've said a million times its YOUR choice. I dont always wear a hat, especially in the summer, i'd die of heat stroke my boy is dam hard work in the school!!

Im going to the second rounds at Swallowfields (when I send my sheet off) just the prelim and novice tho. I'll say hi if I see you. I'll be the one on the bay event type sweating my ass off just trying to get a decent working trot, let alone anything close to medium! The way he makes me work I should be a stick lol!! :D

Yes. I'm so pathetic as to wish people would do something simple like put a hat on rather than risk a more serious injury if they had an accident - when it is quite obvious to me they only don't wear one because of some bizarre idea that if they do, they'll either not look cool, or it will diminish their riding ability somehow. Or ruin their hair. Thoroughly selfish of me to think that way, I know. ***** and accidents sadly DO happen, however good a rider you are and however well behaved your horse.

And no, I don't care if it's NM, Laura B or one of the PC kids on our yard - I'd still say the same. It's nothing to do with experience and it's nothing to do with knowledge. It's to do with taking some responsibility and using some common sense. That's all.

I hate to admit (no I dont actually) that i've not worn a hat many a time as I didnt want to get sweaty/messy hair. Extremely vain and shallow I know but ho hum I can live with that :D

I know that will infuriate some people beyond belief but there are worse things one could do, actually I have done far worse things :D :D

Haha thankyou!! The pictures make it look easy - he is such hard work, but my god is it WORTH it!!

I think I'd drown in sweat if I kept it on during summer!!! I get super hot riding anyway so I dread to think what sort of state I'd be in with a hat. I like to think my GPA looks fashionable - but I'd prefer not to be a sweaty mess! I set my hair in place with copious amounts of hairspray....purely to avoid a comfort thing. And I trust my horse.

Ohhh I hope I'll be seeing you at Swallowfields then. Will keep an eye out for you - I'm totally deaf and in my own little world - so if I blank you, thump me on the arm and shout in my face!!! I'll be the one with cowboy spurs walking like John Wayne!! You'll hear me before you see me! *clank clink clank*

I've done far worse too :D .... I used to hop onto my section B whilst he was lying down and have a snooze with him - might have got kicked in the face and ended up brain dead. Also used to ride bareback on one pony from the top of the field, pulling another along by its mane and ride them straight into the stables!!

BUT....I could also walk across the road and get hit by a car.... Get stung by a bee and go in aphlayayayaytic shock lol..... Life is full of horrors, best get used to it!

No disrespect to you or your opinions - I work with a hat awareness charity, and having experienced a head injury (which would have left me in a coma or worse if I hadn't been wearing my hat) and visited the likes of Courtney King etc shortly after their own accidents, I appreciate your sentiments totally.

However, the OP is an adult, who has made her own decisions, we - total strangers - have no right to judge or criticize, even if we desperately want to. I avoided this thread to begin with, because I do advocate wearing a hat at all times, I'm sure your intentions are good, but maybe you should do the same in future, or bite your tongue.

To the OP, you have a beautiful horse, (well, maybe I have a thing for gray dressagey types :p) and a wonderful seat.

Oh believe me you'll be hearing me before you see me. I'll be the one on the little bright bay puffing and panting like a fat guy chasing the pizza delivery boy who forgot to leave his extra pizzas!!!

I'll spot you a mile off anyway, Brucey Bonus will be hard to miss. Are you just doing the elementary?

PWAHAHAH!!!! Oh god that made me laugh!

Doing the elementary warm up and then the elementary!! Must remember *forward and up!*

That aphlayayayaytic shock made me lol :D :D But your right. We could drop down dead any minute, my friends mom did last year, fit healthy woman, suffered a massive heart attack.

Hmmm worse things I have done... I'll keep it tame lol :D
When I was younger I put the roller blades on and got the pony to tow me down the road as fast as his little legs could trot!! Got a right rollocking off the mother but god it was fun and well worth it!! :D :D

Thanks! I have a deep rooted love of greys, especially ones with pink noses!! I'm glad you said I have a decent seat - have been working SO hard on keeping shoulders up and level and keeping my bum down and really IN the saddle seat!!

Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience, but super glad that you are okay! I am aware of the risks I run by not wearing a hat - but the point of my posts is not to be slated for doing so; it is for CC of my riding/horse, so it gets a little.....wearing.....and boring.....to be hearing and seeing the same things again and again when I have made my choice clear.

Love your boy? in your sig - have seen some lovely pics floating about on H&H of you two :)

I know you might not want to, but someone else on here chops the riders head off all their pictures so as not to start an argument. Just thought it might save endless argument as someone is ALWAYS going to comment. That way you can get CC on everything else about your position, you just have to CC your own head :D

Bruce is lovely as always :D

Yes I must remember my spurs to achieve our poor impression of *forward and up* lol

Considering he is a xc machine you cant hold one side of when jumping, I just dont know where his pure lazyness, representing a slob like creature comes from in the dressage!
He just totally switches off, drops totally off my leg, and no amount of transitions etc helps. Until he decides its all very boring then bu**ers off to liven things up :D:D

Yes, that's a good idea..... Although something I want CC on is my position. And at the moment have got my back and shoulders where I want - but I flop my neck and tilt my head at funny angles...... Sometimes people on here have some great suggestions of what to do about it, and how it could be producing a reaction from Bruce that I haven't picked up on!

.....I used to make the dog drag me round on my skateboard......:p

Maybe you could try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SORYzaBLTI ??

Yup seen that video before. Very cool and nice horse!

Although im 99.9% sure my roller blading skills faded long ago with my childhood, so there would be a very high chance of me dying a painful death if i attempted that!! :D:D

Likewise with my skateboarding skills!! Think I would end up with my nose poking out the back of my skull! Or worse!

EEK!! anything that involves nose injuries of any sort makes me CRINGE!!!

Im now having terryfying visions of getting a splatted nose
