When I brought horse home from retirement livery 12 months ago he had this small bald patch, it’s about the size of a 50p piece. I thought it might be a touch of rain scald or just where he’d lost a tuft of hair being bitten by another horse but it’s never gone away!
It’s scurfy but never gets sore or scabby. It’s right on the top of his rump so not somewhere he can rub or reach to itch it.
I’ve tried various creams, medicated washes, leaving it alone altogether. Nothing seems to work. No seams on his rug that could be rubbing there. He only has this one patch and it’s never spread or popped up anywhere else and his coat is otherwise healthy.
Any ideas??
