Pointless moan but we are still being battered by heavy rain and winds, and for the first time this autumn/winter decided to keep all the horses in for the day.
Hugely frustrating as it is my one free day a week and wanted to get both horses ridden, catch up on poo-picking etc, but having just watched my wheelbarrow fly past the window, don't think it is worth even attempting.
Never mind, on ebay now doing xmas shopping.....!

I was planning - best laid plans and all that! - on riding today - horse was at the top of (huge) field sheltering by a wall, didn't see the point in bringing her in to fuss her .... I had a potter about, gave her a wave :D and left, had to remind myself she's a horse and doesn't need mollycoddling

xx

Yup :)

Stopped raining here but very dark and windy. Was going to take a friends horse for a nice hack. But as he is well up for it, hasn't been ridden for a few days...and not allowed to go around the fields for a canter to release his energy when it's this wet....I think I may pass.

Going to go have a nice hot shower and pamper myself instead methinks :)

Friend and I braved it and rode to the top of the farm...........

...........looked at one another and our wincing horses and rode staright back down again:D

I've been dying to ride for a week (house sitting next door to yard) and today I have a horse to ride - except now I feel ill and it's peeing down with rain! I keep looking out the window like it's going to get better... No, stuff it, I'm staying put. Meh!

Yep me too. The Monsoon was supposed to be over but Yesterday it was rain and thunder and then at 4am this morning again the heavens opened and it has chucked it down ever since! The thunder and lightening truly have to be seen (and heard) to be believed. I braved it last night but a particularly nasty bolt of lightening followed by thunder so huge it rattled my rib cage (pretty much) had me cantering (pretty damn quick) across the field (looking up at the sky in terror, hoping that it would hit the tree and not me) back to the stables.

Didn't bother this evening and in any case, the field now resembles a lake. Soooo, first glass of wine finished and contemplating a second. Nice :-)

Whimps the lot of you.

I got up at 6:15 mucked out my landladys 3 horses, Cycled to work turned out, mucked out another 9 stables and swept the yard then cycled home. On arriving home I got Herbs in and lunged him for 20 mins then poo picked his field, Got Merryn in and lunged him for 10 mins, put him back out and poo picked his field, Put Herbs back out. Then I took the dogs out.

I'm soaked through and very cold. Actualy come to think about it I think you are all very sensable. I need a hot bath and some warm soup. Next rainy day i think i'll stay in and clean tack. :p ;) :D :D
