Anybody got a Welsh or a Welsh part bred?

My babypony is a welsh D crossed with an American National Show Horse (saddlebred x arab):

He's only two at the moment so what he will grow into, who knows... He goes through phases - he looked quite welsh all winter but then he has gone through phases where he has just gone 'today, Matthew, I shall be an arab' or 'today, Matthew, I shall be a saddlebred'. I think he will be a tough little critter though, albeit with a sense of humour. This is him getting very excited over his new rolling patch:

Nikiska-hmm, could make an interesting cross-i'm definitely going to have to do my research :)

It's the mum in those photos that's the WelshD x Hackney - the little colt was a whoops (BIG TIME!) his dad is a warmblood so god knows what he is WelshD x Hackney x Warmblood! lol. poor chap. :(

My girl has welsh in her and she's a character. Her dam was Dutch warmblood and her sire was TB x Welsh.

I have 19 welshes here, a mixture of As,Bs and Ds. I love them all and am a great admirer of all welsh breeds, but my real passion is the Ds :)

I've got a Welsh B gelding called Solo. Well, I think he's Welsh B, he's not registered.

I've just bought a reg Welsh Sec D :) well, so long as the vetting goes ok next week. Will post some pics when she's officially mine

Everyone who rides a welsh x tb and say they are quirky to ride, in what way? My guys gotta another year or so before being backed and I`d quite like to know what to expect lol I have some pretty good stickability thanks to my slightly nutty PBA..... my tb x welsh is quite possibly as quirky as they come.

I have a little 22 month old Welsh filly. Her sire is a D, her dam an A.

I had never really liked Welshies, heard a lot of negatives about their characters and didn't like the shape of the A and B's heads.

Lola has turned my opinions of Welshies around. Everyone who meets her adores her, she is placid, gentle, loves to be groomed and loved and is extremely well behaved.

I have a welsh D (sires side goes back onto Nebo Black Magic lines) x cob

She's forward but has an absolutely brilliant way of thinking, she's never silly yet is very off the leg but safe as houses, she also has a jump to die for and is the perfect build of not too fine and not too heavy - love her :D

she's very quirky but I'd trust her with my life!

interesting-my mares sires side goes back to nebo and her pedigree is full of derwen lines :)
and i second the not too fine not too heavy, imo thats kinda perfect size just like mine :D

my mare has a few Derwen lines, but really only around the Nebo side of things! I don't know much about welsh lines but she's by Ebbw horses which goes onto a lot of Cledlyn

I love allbreedpedigree cause I can go right back to the 1600s!

yours looks just like my girlie!!!
shes a fully registered welsh d (nebo and derwin bloodlines i dont know if your boy has the same as they look strikingly alike!!)
best breed ever, love their versatility, looks, tempraments and ability - my mare can jump bigger than lots of tbs and big horsies and will try her heart out fro you (when she wants to lol)
def want a welshie baby from her when shes older :-)

I have a Welsh Sec D and he's the most good natured but quirky horse I've ever known. He's so easy to do- very sweet in the stable, not a nasty bone in his body. To ride, he can be really lazy but I wanted a horse who could just be ridden at weekends if needs be, and he certainly fits the bill. Also the cheapest horse I've ever kept- he practically lives off fresh air!!

I love him! :)

This is our boy, By Gorsfraith Brenin, Sec D out of a PBQH mare, we also had his full sister who is the roan in my sig. They definately have personality and are very talented. He has been placed at BE, BD, BSJA and won his 153 workers yesterday. Shame daughter is outgrowing him and he is looking for a new home.

If you want to see pics of Welsh D's cross TB, (although I use my "D" stallion onto TB mares)go to my website. Just google my user name. Mustn't advertise, must I ????!!!!!

He's like a mini verision of mine! I've often wondered from the head shot in your sig what breeding he was as they have a similar head and markings as well.

Very sharp to ride and can be very spooky. On the plus side fab with traffic - milk tankers, tractors, bridges over ring road etc.
Has a cracking jump and is doing well at dressage.

One the ground a really bolshy madam and would walk all over you given half the chance, can also be a bugger to catch but the rudeness is down to her handling. If I look after her for the owner she is good as gold as she knows to respect me as I'm kind but firm with her.
