Mirrors!
I'm just ordering now, having a 100cmx75cm mirror for the grand sum of £23.82 inc VAT.

Does anyone know where the best place to put a mirror in the stable is? I'm sure I remember reading somewhere, once upon a time, that you shouldn't put them next to where your horse feeds?

Edited to add link as I'm a dozy mare!

Probably not a good idea if your horse can see himself when eating if he's protective over his feed! My YO got one for the 3yo on box rest (was going loopy and kicking the walls in) and she put it next to her hay tie-ring. Darcy loved it as she could watch her friend (Ethel!) share her hay (or so she thought). She's off box rest now and the new occupant of the mirror stable loves checking himself out (well he IS gorgeous)!

Archie's mirror is at the back of his stable, away from his hay and where he is fed. altho hes not the overprotective type when it comes to feed so i doubt he wouldve minded if i had put it somewhere else.

Anyways it works really well - turned him from a complete stress head into a chilled out horse!

He loves admiring himself in it too!!

None of my horses are at all aggressive about their feed - all four of them would try to eat out of the same bowl if I'd let them!

Just wasn't sure whether it *could* make them aggressive to have 'another horse' eating their hay all the time, LOL!
My one mare is already completely in love with herself, and is always admiring herself in the car windows (slightly tinted, so quite mirrored!) and in the roadside mirrors that people use for blind entrance/exit driveways

I can imagine Archie was the type to spend ages swooning over himself when you first started using arenas with mirrors?
Dressage isn't my thing, but am intending to do some indoors over the winter and just know that my first few tests will be complete write offs as my horses will be unable to take their eyes off their reflections
