Anyone doing the Equine nutrition course?

Me too! Not much time at the moment though, so hoping the course materials from Monday will still be there for me to look at over the weekend.

I'm looking forward to it; I really don't know much about nutrition at all.

They'll still be there. The cut off date for the first assessment
is Monday.

thought you could take the assessments any time during the course and got three goes at it??

I will be and have signed up but won't start till tomorrow. Does look very interesting and its nice that the tutors are so keen, the fact its free is fabulous.

I think each assessment has to be completed by a certain date otherwise it doesn't count towards your final mark. It's true you get three tries and your best score counts. Don't worry, the first assessment is pretty easy!

:D not worried mine will be done but I have a friend whose competing this weekend so won't make a start till Tuesday. Don't think she is doing it for a qualification though more for a brush up on skills ;)

Me too.. It's very good. Just did my test - 80%... Rats... Must read the question properly. Too long since I last did exams! Enjoying it though.. Have fun everyone

I really enjoyed the first video.. I love science anyway. Got 100% on assessment quiz, however found the first question confusing! Can't wait to see what's in store next week! Wrote notes, not realising it's all in the course slides! oh well.. It's a habit with me I suppose!

I've got the emails but this week a work has bern so busy and stressful I need to relax in the evening and I don't get in til seven. How long is it taking you x

Yea im doing it as well, i think the the final deadline for the week 1 test is March, but please check as its from memory.
Found the first part really interesting, covered some new stuff and reinforced stuff from my stages years ago, have done my first test and passed :) yaay

I think itll depend on your baseline knowledge tbh, as a nurse and having studied equine gi tract before it was fine, but for others who are starting with a blank slate they might find it a wee bit more of a challenge.
The information videos and notes are very good and explain things well

Yep, it's great. I did human nutrition as part of my Personal Training qual so the sciencey bits on this course are similar in some ways. Looking forward to learning about feeds and their effects.

Me!

CallyH I did it in my lunch hour today watched 2 video tutorials and the 2 sponsored vids - did the quiz and got 100% :D question one confused me a bit too though! I do think it's probably going to get harder though!

I'm doing it. Finding it very interesting. Ordered some books and reserved some from the library just to help with some of the required information. Also put my name down for some more courses.

I'm doing it too. Watched 2 videos on Monday & wrote down some notes, didn't have time yesterday so hoping tonight to watch the rest.

Does anyone know what micro fermentation is? Have also posted the same question in the course tutors forum.

Was wondering as at the start of the 2nd video for week 1 she says about how horses have enzymatic digestion in the stomach and small intestine but in the large intestine they have micro fermentation

Microbial fermentation. So it's bacteria/microbes that ferment the stuff that enters the large intestine.

I'm doing it! Did the Quiz today, got 9/10 on my first try and then 10/10 on the second. I think it'll get alot harder as it goes on! Was hoping the week 2 would be online so I could get started on it, but guess I'll have to wait until monday lol!

Also the emails went into my junk email! Only found them yesterday!
