Where you question whether or not you should have your horse.
I have had a proper I don't know what to do day. With dizzy back in box rest again a further revelation from new vet that she thinks she is even younger (3 and a half now) which puts her at late 2 when I bought her. she was broken and I believed from her passport she was 5. A possible problem with her pedal bones in her hind legs and the fact that today she wouldn't let me touch her anywhere past the neck without her trying to kill me (she is in season going to speak to vet about supplements that can help with this) I am feeling a little heart broken, guilty and out of my depth. I love this horse but this was supposed to be a fun hobby for me and it has been nothing but emotional turmoil and problems. Luckily I have a very supportive YO and we sat down and sorted a plan she offered to change my livery so that when dizzy has recovered from whatever it is we will hopefully discover on Thursday with X-rays I can turn her away properly for the rest of the year but still keep my stable for when I can bring her back into work. In the meantime she has offered me to ride one of her older horses and another girl on the yard has also offered me a share so I can focus on my riding with older and established horses so next year with help of my instructor I can bring on my horse.
I sat in her stable today and cried in pure frustration I never wanted a horse of this age and part of me knows I should of seen the warning signs. However I will never part with her because of the fear of where she could wind up so its sink or swim I hope I can do the best by her :(

Gosh that must be frustrating for you!!Hopefully it will all be ok in the end, can i ask where you bought her from?what was she advertised as?

She was advertised as a 5yr old Irish tb who never raced and who was a little green. With an easy personality and who is good to do. All of that is correct apart from the age and the 'is a little green.' How ever the last owner only had her 4 months after buying her from ascot market and in fairness to her she has stayed in touch with me over the past 8 months and I don't think a lot of her problems was in her knowledge but I do think that she didn't do as much with her that she said she did. It was a private sale.

If she is a pure Wetherbys registered tb you should be able to check on the dams record and place then date of birth? Or was she a mystery Irish import?

Mystery Irish import. Can find dad he is of the cool more stud and I am guessing it was AI as he is in Australia and when I google the breeders name I get a lot of not so good stuff also I can not find her mum anywhere

Does it have her d.o.b in it? They have to be blood checked now to have a whetherbys passport so you should have her exact dam and sire, d.o.b and the basic info on her?!

Her date of birth in her passport puts her at 6 now I have had it confirmed by dentist and vet that she isn't even close to that yet

That will be her age. Wetherbys are incredibly strict, they have to be. She would have been blood tested and chipped when she was first registered by her breeder. The racing industry would fall apart if horses suddenly were'nt what they thought they were in terms of age and breeding ;).
She's probably underdeveloped for her
age which can happen. Hope you get her sorted. My weedy racing bred TB grew from 15 3 to 16.2 between the ages of 4 and 7 with some tlc!

She has 3 baby teeth! Both vet and dentist have both said there is no way a six year old would have 3 baby teeth. Checked the microchip and it does match. But also the date of when the passport was issued was 2 years after she was born.
