Robin has his feet done every 6 weeks, sometimes pushing to 7 in winter. However it is just over 4 weeks since he was done and his front feet in particular really need done. I’m presuming as a result of very dry weather then Suddenly warm and wet and a huge grass spurt causing them to grow much quicker. Luckily farrier can come sooner than booked.

Mine are barefoot and in summer have to be trimmed every 4 weeks and when they were shod were left no longer than 5, winter they could be left for 6 weeks 7 at a push so I would say it's pretty normal.

Yes. Farrier has thankfully been this week but they all looked awful, some broken off and some just very long (all barefoot). I have provisionally booked him for 5 weeks this time.

yep, my ones at the yard are more or less staying on schedule but their grass is very tightly controlled so they aren't really affected by seasonal stuff. Broodmare had hers trimmed the week she foaled, foal is approaching 5 weeks now and they are looking overdue.

Mine went 3 weeks before needing a good tidy up. He does tend to get flare this time of year (I am convinced it’s from spring grass or vaccinations - timing wise either could work!) so he always needs a decent trim this time of year and the flare goes never to return until next year.

Farrier has said he should go 5 weeks this time but we shall see. He’s out almost weekly anyway as he does so many on the yard so if I need to go shorter it’s no issue.
