I still have a grazing muzzle on my lad but am starting to feel guilty :/

The problem is he is still fat and with the weather as unpredictable as it is I don't know what's happening with the grass! He's out all day and sometimes over night as well if weather is dry.

Is anyone else still muzzling? Or am I super evil and need to take it off? Thanks!

The plan was to muzzle until the end of October as my boy is still fat too, however, he has worked out that if he bugs his field mate for long enough, his field mate removes it for him. It now won't stay on longer than 10 minutes so I have given up! If it wasn't for this he would still have it on.

I've been able to stop as they have FINALLY eaten the grass down in the field my mare is turned out in:cool: When they swap to winter fields it will go back on again, as they have been rested for months and she will explode otherwise.

Section A still muzzled. Tho did give her few hours without it in middle of day today as her nose looked a bit rubbed.

We have loads of grass still so think she'll be wearing it at least overnight for a while yet.

Im still using it, but its off for a few more hours.
In the height of summer I took it off about 2pm and put it on about 6-7pm
Now I take it off at 10am and put it on at 5pmish.
It will be a while before its off fully :)
(although my gelding took his off at some point last night Lol)

Still on 24/7 except for the 2hours or so when he comes in to be worked etc. Despite the muzzle AND strip grazing and working hard every day he's still not loosing the pounds :( am going to clip him a bit this weekend and see if that helps because tbh hes a lami risk at the mo :(

Am so glad I'm not the only one! He is still fat (although doesn't seem to be gaining thankfully; just not shifting any!) and there is still loads of grass in his field.

I do feel bad though as it is rubbing his nose a bit :( Have rubbed vaseline and sudocrem on his snozz now so hopefully that will help.

Mine's in a lightweight rug as it has been very wet and still not clipped. I'm still not sure whether to clip as he's only in light work but maybe I should. Am just putting it off as his old owner said he had to be sedated for it and I've never clipped before so would have to pay someone.

Is on soaked hay now and daily, light exercise so hopefully we will start getting somewhere as, although he's not huge, his weight is a concern :(

My mare still has her's on :( Unless she takes it off on the tree! I'm starting to doubt if I'll ever get it off as we still have plenty of grass & I can't work her at the moment due to a veterinary issue (not grass/weight related) :( Shes wearing it 18-20hrs a day & then in on a token gesture of hay in an afternoon when stabled & is still putting on the pounds without the exercise :(

My fatty will be muzzled ALL winter :( she doesn't seem to care and would much rather that than strip graze which makes for one unhappy fatty.

Im hoping that the winter will be enough to get the weight off my mare. She is SERIOUSLY overweight. I managed it for half the summer and then she seemed to suddenly triple in size :/
Shes retired so I cant work the weight off

Mine is muzzled & prob will be all winter (although its never on 24/7) as they move into new field after.first frost (prob this week) & he lives out now.

He comes over to me to have it put on so I dont think it bothers him one iota!!

Still unrugged too which is longest i've left it but starting to feel guilty even tho he has plenty of fat & fur!

My section b is still muzzled in the day and in starvation field at night. He is still unrugged as I think it's still pretty mild! Although our grass is starting to look old iykwim and I will prob try him without his muzzle in a month or so
