Went to get Pidge in last night and let them into the next field (currently empty) so I could put the hay out in peace and he went skits! Got the headcollar on Sunny ok and Pidge charged us from the other side of the field broncing for all he was worth

Sis arrived in time to grab Sunny and take him in and I then spent the next 10 minutes watching Pidge gallop round the field broncing! wouldn't have been too bad but had a lesson at 6.30pm and he didn't stop galloping until 6.10pm

Needless to say he was steaming when I got him in so chucked his cooler on, flicked him over and chucked his tack on

However we then had one of the best lessons ever
smile.gif
spent a lot of time in canter and it was nice and soft and straight, even on the left rein which is very much work in progress

So can only assume he works better when totally warmed up!

Mine is disgustingly chilled out to say he is now in hunting mode (well, I say chilled out, Oshk chilled out is more like a normal neddy being hyper!)

thought it was just me TBH.

My mare is mental at the moment and also being awkward to catch which she hasn't been all summer. After feeding she snorts and stamps and makes a horrid fuss until I take her out to the field at which point she practically drags me across the yard. Bleugh blooming mares!

fantastic

sorry if I missed your post as not been on a great deal recently, but did the vet ever find out what was wrong with him?

am so glad it isn't just Pidge then
grin.gif
even got dragged through the field to the yard when normally he is a dope on a rope
blush.gif

Oh thank goodness for that! Boo is being such a little git and I haven't even clipped him yet
shocked.gif
I have to be so careful as he can explode at any time, but he just about managed to contain himself today.
He now needs to get out and party, so to speak, he is going to spend the winter sj and dressaging to keep his brain busy

fortunately for me Pidge doesn't explode, buck or rear when ridden (oh boy am I tempting fate now or what
crazy.gif
) only when loose in the field. Just gets keen when ridden and has a habit of cantering sideways but that's it
grin.gif

Boo tends to shy at anything and everything, because as far as he is concerned everything is gonna bite his arse!! We managed to get round the whole ride today without an explosion then when I was riding up the driveway, somebody made a noise and that was it, up on hind legs (not high) and dancing all over the place, for which he got a sock in the teeth, a couple of hard kicks and taken back down the driveway to walk in sensibly!

oops

at least I only have to contend with the horse eating birds when hacking out, and Pidge then does a very good impression of bambi on ice - a leg in each direction - although have to admit it has done wonders for my seat

Ooh dear, entertaining or not?

Let's put it this way, tonight I am having a lesson on her, the flash will be reinstated and I will try my hardest to get her to walk

Yes! Toff is manic at the moment! On Sunday I had a group lesson at a local riding school, she was very full of beans and embarrassed me by making a double a triple by jumping the pile of poles/blocks afterwards, at full speed!!
blush.gif
Also on Monday night when I put them out (in at day, out at night), she was HURTLING around the field! This is from a pony who barely gets out of an amble..... Then last night I schooled her and it was like she was in fast forward mode!! Possbily due to me re-clipping her on Saturday and the colder weather....it's quite good fun at the moment although I have the waterford un standby for weekend hacking....

My mare is towing me around the arena everyday just now. Last year this didn't kick off until the depths of winter. She's gone back to her old showjumper ways of taking off at a canter the minute you pick up the reins....am making good use of the school walls to stop her! And she's in foal - I was assuming she would've calmed down this winter
blush.gif

I had the best schooling session ever on May after she spend a full 30 mins bombing, then lunging herself around me in the field! she was also clipped a couple of weeks ago, but you can't even tell now
blush.gif

God yes! Lottie proceeded to bronk around on the lunge and then reared right up
shocked.gif
never seen anything like it, but she then worked well. Flo is her usual self 24 going on 4
smirk.gif
and acts like a racehorse
