Anyone else's horse...

:D Yes me, my show pony does not do rain/cold/mud :o, she is precocious but we love her for it! When everyone else's horses come in looking like swamp donkeys I can be a bit smug that mine is generally mud free ;). She has been known to leg it at the gate back to her stable if it's raining, so we have to be careful and make sure the gate is secure before releasing her!
Nobody has told her that horses are *suppose* to want to be out in the field and don't care about the weather :D:D.

I don't do rain or mud never mind my horse! She sounds like she has only her comforts in her mind! ;)
Mine don't have a choice but I'm pretty sure if given it they'd rather be in a stable or barn. Horrible weather!
Mine is going out for a few hours otherwise he will go crazy but as soon as he starts neighing to come in he will. Luckily he is at home with me so I can hear and see whether he's alright.

Just brought mine into the dry for breakfast (they live out 24/7). Was going to leave them in to dry & munch hay, but one was trying to barge out of her stable - so their all back out, happily munching a patch of grazing I'd saved for a treat.

Turned mine out on Wednesday in the rain as they had been in for a few days, within 30 minutes both were waiting at the gate to come in :)

Taken ones look at the weather and has a face that screams "I'm not going out there mom!" :p

I've got 13 of them saying no way! I've turned one or two out in the indoor school for an hour then they've begged to go back to bed and cuddles. My grooms given them lots of hay and fuss so they are happy in. Sometimes think they hate it out even in the sun the way they wait by the gate to come in. Must admit I make them wimps! They're happy though so who am I to force them out.

You have a groom SMF? I wonder how you can afford one of those....

Anyway, none of mine have even left their stables this morning, and are more than happy munching hay in the dry. We are having the worst of it in the SW at the moment and supposed to get worse as the day goes on. Four of the geldings have been turned out because their owners don't want to pay for extra hay, and they all look miserable.

Nope, Ned prefers to be out. The silly horse just doesn't "get" stables and will break the door or jump out. I would love nothing more than to have him tucked up with a nice stable rug and a deep bed of straw!

Mine loves his stable, but I am hoping it is still a novelty for him. Either that or he is just a bit of a wimp. He doesn't mind rain, wind, etc, but once it drops under five degrees he is not keen on going out!

Mine is usually like that but changed his mind with the wind!

Surprised you think I would be in money difficulties lol, three ways of earning and a fourth on its way I really doubt I need to worry. Thank you for worrying though such a kind person :)

Phew! We just got ours in through gale-force wind and rain. They have had a good few hours out but now are very happy as long as there is LOTS of hay! They will be desperate to go out tomorrow though.....

You would be surprised, mine have access to their stables and just choose to turn their butts to the wind and rain and keep grazing. Grass is still better than hay it would seem even this time of the year.

mine are usually out, but i decided that in an effort to try and save my paddock after the downpours they would have a day in today, my youngster who doesn't really do stables seemed only too happy when i produced another haynet jammed full of hay & haylage this morning, usually she wants to go out.

I will turn them out if possible for an hour or so this evening while i muck out their stables and then they will come back in for the night.

We kept ours in today, horrible here in the SW:( mind you they will be desperate to get out tomorrow, we hope to get a ride in first tho:)

We've had terrible weather here today, lashing hail and thunder storms. Both have mine have been out, Dancer loves to be out and has lots of shelter in her field so as long as she has haylage she very rarely bothers to come into her barn. Queen Lucy on the other hand (native pony) who has never been stabled before we bought her loves her stable. I mean she enjoys being out and turning herself into a mud monster but she will let you know when she wants to come in.
