Just about to get the horses in at 16.30 when I suddenly heard lots of dog barking and then a hunting horn, followed by shouting, more horns and much calling by hounds. Cue my two horses disappearing at full pelt down the field.... and then back up the field....and then back down the field (ringbone? what ringbone? lol).
Managed to nab one as it paused by the gate, got walked all over, and shoved her in the stable. She has superb manners... except when the hunt is nearby, at which point her brain disappears up her backside and she doesnt 'notice' you at all.
Other horse now going crazy, but miracle of miracles got him too (a bit like trying to lead a giant jack in a box) and have now left them both.... one digging up the stable and the other weaving like a loon.
Food not even being considered so old mare will look like all tucked up tomorrow
. It takes her about 3 days to get over just hearing the hunt.
Anyone elses horse as stupid as mine?
